With thoughtful planning and a commitment to composting and recycling, we’re making sure that what isn’t needed doesn’t go to waste. We’ve introduced a range of biodegradable and plastic-free guest amenities to minimize environmental impact without sacrificing quality. From recyclable containers to compostable packaging, every detail has been designed with the planet in mind. We are delighted to announce that Holiday Inn Belfast City Centre has been awarded Green Tourism Gold! On top of our already ongoing efforts to make each stay as sustainable as possible, this new certification was possible thanks to the following actions: - Screening suppliers for their own green policies (MSC, free-range, fairtrade and RSPCA certified). - Removal of all single use plastic bottles in meeting rooms and only providing stationery on request. - A brand new herb and vegetable garden, with the produce being used for cocktails and food, as well as the installation of bug and bird boxes to support local biodiversity. In the past year or so, we have taken significant steps to make our hotel as sustainable as possible, and that includes: - Installation of solar panels - Installation of regulators to monitor the use of fans and air con - Replacement of our compactor with a baler, a type of recycling machine used to reduce waste An on top of those actions and our continued effort to be sustainable from check-in to check-out, our mission is to change the mindset of guests and team members about sustainability.
