A few weeks ago, Storm Eowyn brought severe weather and widespread power cuts across Scotland. But for many GreenFox Energy customers, it was a different story. After assessing the storm’s impact, here’s what we found: ✅ 0 customers reported losing their solar panels ✅ 1 in 3 customers experienced grid outages ✅ all of those with battery storage, around 50%, stayed powered up automatically Our Emergency Power Supply (EPS) feature kicked in for customers with battery storage, keeping lights on, heating running, and essential appliances working—even while the grid was down. As our co-founder @Eddie Curran puts it: "The primary purpose of solar and battery storage is to decarbonise homes. But as Storm Eowyn has shown, its ability to provide energy security is just as valuable. With extreme weather events becoming more common, having a reliable backup power system isn’t just a luxury—it’s a necessity." At GreenFox Energy, we’re committed to providing resilient, sustainable, and cost-effective energy solutions for homeowners across Scotland. A solar and battery system doesn’t just help the planet—it helps protect your home from disruptions when the grid fails. GreenFox Energy
Services for Renewable Energy
We're on a mission to make home solar a simple, smart and successful choice for every home in the UK
About us
GreenFox energy designs, installs, maintains and optimises the performance of domestic solar energy systems. Our proprietary system design and configuration standards deliver, on average, 20% greater power yield than competitors' systems. This, and our passionate commitment to customer care has given us a 9.3 Customer Net Promoter Score - which we believe is the best in the industry. Why do we do this? We’re on a mission. Almost 50% of the UK’s homeowners actively consider installing a solar energy micro-generation system, yet only 10% have done so. The UK lags behind comparable countries in solar energy adoption and no - its not just because of our weather! There’s a deficit in public understanding of the practicalities and true potential of domestic solar power and that's made worse by the fact that many people who feel they’d like to install it simply fail to find trustworthy sources of information, advice & installation service. Given the significanct benefits solar power offers our country and it's homeowners, it's a real problem that so many suppliers tend to be poorly organised and focussed mostly on just 'transacting'. They sell & install product but often lack design skills meaning customers lose out and don't even know it. More obvious is the lack of customer service or support to achieve long term household sustainability and efficiency goals. This all slows our adoption of home solar energy and means the UK is largely missing out on the opportunity and benefits of micro generation. At GreenFox we've trawled some of the world's most mature solar markets to build an advice, design, supply, installation and lifetime service proposition that's unmatched in the UK. We're a mission driven, customer focussed business who believe that 95% of the UK’s homeowners can and should benefit from solar power. Just 12 million homes to go! Want to harness the power of the sun? Time to be a GreenFox: Solar for the Savvy.

A few plugs for the work our our Message Matters clients in the final days of 2024.... 🏃♂️ Thanks to The Scottish Government First Minister John Swinney for lacing up the running shoes for My Name'5 Doddie Foundation at Murrayfield at the weekend (with our Alison Moore). Widespread coverage everywhere, including with a great photo here in the The Independent 👉 https://lnkd.in/eezRSqbJ ☀️ Our new client GreenFox Energy (Eddie Curran & Andrew Murphy OBE) made an important intervention in the heating debate in The Herald Scotland calling for a massive expansion in solar power to make heat pumps viable. Read it here 👉 https://lnkd.in/eFrtnXNf 🧮 Reform Scotland, Scotland's independent think tank run by Chris Deerin and Alison Payne, released worrying new research on STEM attainment, showing that only 40% of S4 kids passed Nat5 maths last year. Coverage across press and broadcast, including here on STV Group plc 👉 https://lnkd.in/eJQX4zEr and here in The Times, featuring Lord Jack McConnell 👉 https://lnkd.in/eAfkifft 🛣️ We love working with Shetland Islands Council and its ambitious Political Leader Emma Macdonald. She's in The Herald Scotland today with an opinion article on Shetland's plans for inter-island tunnels following funding in the recent Budget, with a news story written by Kathleen Nutt. Read it here 👉 https://lnkd.in/eb9EZRbN 🗳️ Finally, some thoughts from me in this Adam Forrest article in The i Paper on the prospect of a Labour/SNP unity coalition after the 2026 The Scottish Parliament election 👉 https://lnkd.in/eb9EZRbN . Unthinkable? Maybe not... Happy New Year everyone! a
