About us
Grenson was born in 1866 in Rushden, Northamptonshire. William Green, the founder, started making high quality shoes for London Gentlemen and was so successful that he soon had to build a factory and the company grew from there. Recently Grenson has undergone a new lease of life, helped by their focus on quality and modern design whilst never losing sight of their impressive heritage.

Grenson X Craig Green For our 10 year anniversary of the iconic Grenson Triple Welt, and the 10 year anniversary of us working together, Craig Green designed a beautiful Triple Welt that showcases both his incredible creativity and Grenson shoe making heritage in equal measure. Craig is possibly the most well respected UK menswear designer of the past decade and we’re so proud to have worked with him for most of that time. For this very special collaboration, we have made a limited number of pairs which were first showcased at the Craig Green SS25 show back in June. #grenson #craiggreen #collab #collaboration

GRENSON X YUKETEN When we sat down with Yuki Matsuda of the amazing brand Yuketen in Paris last year, he asked if we could make a Triple Welt, punk Creeper, and of course we said yes. So after lots of prototypes and zooms across the pond, we have made this incredible unique shoe together. Based on a 1950’s Teddy Boy Creeper, but on our famous sole, it comes in two colours, a black and brown and is set to become a classic. #GRENSON #YUKETEN #Collab #Collaboration

Introducing NL by Grenson. For over 150 years we have been making shoes from leather, mainly calf leather. However we also do a lot of work researching new materials and making sure we are at the forefront of any material technology. We are thrilled therefore to be able to launch a collection of completely non-leather sneakers, made from a material that is made from 25% corn polymer and 30% PES recycled from plastic bottles. They are more sustainable than a normal sneaker and less expensive even though they are exactly the same quality. Win, win, win.

Launched Today: D-Stock by Grenson. D-Stock is a very special project. We realised that some of the world’s finest shoemaking leather is left sitting on shelves in tanneries gathering dust. It’s perfect leather, by the way, not reject or seconds but simply the result of over production. So we thought, why not use it up by making shoes out of it. The downside is that we can’t repeat a shoe if it’s a winner as the leather will be gone, so once they’re gone, they’re gone, but the upside is that we can make beautiful shoes at much lower cost. Of course, the other benefit is that we are using up existing leftover leather rather than making more, which is better for our footprint – excuse the pun. Every time we find a new batch we will make it into more shoes and launch them right here. We will also add new styles as we go, so sign up for notifications as we anticipate a flurry of demand for every drop. Thanks again for helping us do our bit, it’s one of many initiatives (see others here ‘link to the responsibilities page on grenson’) that we are working on to reduce our impact on the world. The Chef Shoe. A couple of years ago Tim sat down with long time friend Isaac McHale, Chef and owner of the 2-time Michelin star restaurant @thecloveclub and they came up with the idea of creating the ultimate chef's shoe. Isaac wanted to create a shoe that would perform in the kitchen and still look good enough to wear in the restaurant. It features an elastic gusset on the inside of the shoes and a raised 'kick off" seam at the back, making them quick to take off in the event of hot spills. They are made from black bookbinder leather and white gloss leather so are easy to clean and they sit on a rubber cup sole with a padded footbed for maximum comfort. Thank you so much to Jes Salter for this brilliant piece in the Financial Times. #grenson #grensonshoes #collaboration #financialtimes #thechefshoe
