Had a great time at Low Carbon Innovation Fund's reception at the House of Commons on Wednesday, hosted by Clive Lewis MP. It was fantastic to meet with so many other inspiring entrepreneurs and staff from the University of East Anglia in celebration of LCIF’s 1 and 2 fund. With GridDuck amongst over 100 #carbonsaving products as part of the fund, and a total of 10,000 tons of carbon emissions saved per year across the entire range, it was definitely a well-earned celebration. 70% of schools are yet to switch to LED lights. What’s more, the same report states that 30% of energy is used on weekends and holidays. From GridDuck’s own work with schools, I myself have seen a host of #energysaving opportunities, from installing solar, to out of hours automations and equipment upgrades. With over 32,000 schools in the UK, the carbon and money saving potential of this sector is enormous, not to mention it brings a crucial opportunity to involve young people in better energy practices.
