    It’s been a year since Torbay was allocated £1.76m to spend on local investment through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. Since then, we’re proud to have launched ten funded projects which are making a real difference to people living in the Bay.     Are you a business owner and wish to find out more about exporting your products or services overseas? Torbay business owners are being encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to participate in free online export training sessions provided by the Department for Business and Trade (DBT) Export Academy throughout March, April and May.    The UK Export Academy can support your business to grow by giving you the confidence and know-how to land your first, or next overseas deal.    There is no limit to the number of sessions businesses can sign up to, but each individual will need to sign up and register for their own free of charge account to participate, and access on-demand recordings of these sessions.     Today we’re celebrating #IWD2024 by hosting our International Women’s Day Event at the Hampton by Hilton, where the focus of conversations is all about inspiration, positivity and empowerment.     Over 70 Torbay women in business, from diverse backgrounds, have come together to share their stories and experiences, and to celebrate the power, achievements, and resilience of women in Torbay.     There's less than a week left to get your application in for the Devon Create Growth Programme! The Devon Create Growth Programme is a FREE business support programme for the creative businesses, funded by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport and delivered in partnership with Torbay Council and Creative UK. The programme is open to any CIC, Charity or Ltd Company in Devon with creativity at its heart and a strong ambition to grow. Creative businesses include those in Advertising and Marketing; Architecture; Computing including Gaming and Software; Design & Designer Fashion; Performing Arts; Music, Film, TV; and Publishing. There are two support programmes available: a six-month programme aimed at supporting creatives with a new or emerging business; and a nine-month programme for businesses who are ambitious about commercial models, growth and investment. Both programmes are completely free for participating businesses and focus on helping creative businesses to build sustainably.     Delivery partners of Torbay’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund gathered yesterday at EPIC Centre in Paignton to share ideas, success and feedback from what has been a very successful year for the projects. From energy-saving support schemes to help residents with energy bills to business support schemes that have helped local enterprises to thrive, it was inspiring to hear how #UKSPF funding is making a real difference to people’s lives in the Bay.
