We are delighted to invest in Eudia and bring the best of Hakluyt & Company's insight and expertise to the company as it grows. Congratulations to Omar Haroun and his colleagues on their Series A funding close.
When I sold my last startup, I achieved my goal of financial freedom and we delivered great returns to our investors. But instead of feeling good, I was left feeling empty. Why? I couldn’t shake the feeling that we had failed to change the legal system in a meaningful way. The reality is stark: 90% of people who need a lawyer can’t afford one. Businesses face an innovation tax, held back by an outdated legal industry riddled with inefficiencies and misaligned incentives. I saw an opportunity to build something greater—a chance to create lasting impact in an industry I love and deeply understand. For the last 18 months, I’ve been in the trenches with some of the world’s most visionary Chief Legal Officers across the Fortune 500, co-creating an Augmented Intelligence Platform. Unlike previous generations of legal tech—which overpromised and underdelivered—our approach is designed for the real challenges in-house legal teams face today. Today, I’m excited to announce Eudia’s Series A, led by General Catalyst, alongside incredible customer stories about how AI is finally transforming legal from a cost center into a strategic value driver. Read more about our announcement: https://bit.ly/4hFPhX9 But what I’m most proud of is the team we have built. My co-founders, Ashish Agrawal and David V., are two of the most talented people I’ve ever worked with, and together we’ve built a team of mission-driven Eudians who see a once-in-a-generation opportunity to build a category-defining company and fix a broken industry. And we’re just getting started. I want to add a thank you to Andrew Sieja, Mike Gamson, Marcin Wojtczak and the Relativity mafia for believing in me after I left Relativity, Mike Maples, Jr, Arjun Chopra, Tim Guleri, Brian Rothenberg, Scott Hartley, Jenny Fielding for writing a check when this idea was on a napkin, and the crew at General Catalyst - Hemant Taneja, Marc Bhargava, Kate Bender, Vedant Suri - for having the courage and creativity to take a radically different approach to fix this broken system in a responsible manner, James Potts from Hakluyt Capital for fostering our community of leading CLOs, and finally Gokul Rajaram, Scott Belsky, and Chris Re for helping and responding quickly whenever we need help. Finally, thank you to the dozens of Fortune 500 CLOs who have chosen Eudia as the platform to augment their teams and who have helped shape our vision and mission. Follow me and Eudia for more on what’s next.
