  • Children from Reception upwards have been enjoying their guided reading sessions. This is a stimulating opportunity for children to build confidence as they read together in small groups with teacher support, focus on comprehending the text and build their vocabulary. The engaging and supportive environment allows children to further develop their reading skills, engage in thoughtful discussions and embed deeper connections with the text. Children’s ability to identify ideas and themes, think critically and draw from their own experiences assists in promoting overall reading proficiency.

  • Our Years 1-3 children enjoyed an Anti-Bullying drama workshop last week to commemorate the end of Anti-Bullying week. The children learned how to be a good friend, discussed different emotions that may be associated with bullying, sang a friendship song and identified who to talk to if they are being bullied. The session was enthusiastic and engaging - the children thoroughly enjoyed the various activities and left the session with the powers of an anti-bullying superhero!

  • This past Monday the Reception children made their annual visit to the War Memorial at Whitestone Pond. They laid a Poppy Wreath in honour of Remembrance Day and showed exemplary behaviour while listening to the multi-cultural service. They even got to meet the Mayor of Camden!

  • The children in Years 1, 2 and 3 had the pleasure of a visit from Alfie Enoch. An old pupil of HHS who is most known for his role as Dean Thomas in Harry Potter. The children thoroughly enjoyed learning about his experience at HHS and his career in acting. We learned some fun facts too - Alfie's favourite Harry Potter novel is the Chamber of Secrets, he has only ever seen the first film and he most recently finished a Summer theatre production of Shakespeare's Pericles

  • 75 years, 6 year groups, 5 school values, 2 sites, 1 family. Today we gathered all of our children - 376 children aged 2-8 for a whole school photo to celebrate our 75th anniversary. We are certainly a mighty oak grown from a little acorn and it’s lovely to see that reflected in our children of all ages. Can you spot the ‘HHS 75’?

  • The children from Reception upwards have been enjoying their new weekly Conservation & Outdoor Learning lessons which give them the opportunity to learn in a new environment, spend time in nature and discover how we can conserve our community. This week the Reception children went to the Heath to collect leaves, discuss how trees change for Autumn and spot birds.
