Having contributed over recent years, Hann Tucker Associates had the pleasure of being invited to the launch of the 2025 British Council for Offices Guide to Fit-Out and join the panel of industry experts at its launch last week.   Being the first update since 2011, our Senior Associate Tom Bonnert joined the panel to give an overview of some of the key updates within the Acoustics Section, reflecting the many changes in office culture and design ethos. We are proud to have contributed to the now released 2025 Guide to Fit-Out.

Our team at Hann Tucker Associates took a well-deserved break from the world of acoustics for a day out at a bowling alley. Turns out, some of us are great at it, while for others, the only thing quieter were the pins (not) falling. While some of us may not have mastered the art of the perfect throw, we still managed to strike up some friendly competition and a lot of laughs. Our micro-colleague, Lottie, has been hard at work lately, tackling a variety of tasks across different projects. From conducting noise measurements on rooftops, to testing the airborne sound insulation performance of modular units, to assessing impact sound insulation between office floors, and even creating a noise simulation model for a residential development—Lottie has been busy! At Hann Tucker, we’re thrilled to participate in the Women’s Engineering Society Lottie Tour, a collaborative initiative with the Institute of Acoustics. This annual campaign, which takes place during Tomorrow’s Engineers Week every November, gives Lottie the opportunity to accompany our engineers and showcase the wide range of work we do in the acoustics and engineering fields. Great to visit the The University of Salford careers fair to meet current students and discuss career opportunities in Acoustic Consultancy at Hann Tucker Associates! Will Robertson and Tom Bonnert attended and it was great to hear about the modules being studied, the career paths of interest to students, and of course to give an insight into the role of an Engineer on placement or after graduation at Hann Tucker, and the many interesting projects the company has been involved with. Thank you to Waverley Borough Council and all the attendees from building control and design and construction companies for participating in our presentation on Building Regulations Approved Document E and sound insulation testing. The presentation covered the establishment of acoustic design requirements and the demonstration of compliance during the design stages and post-completion testing. At Hann Tucker Associates, we are highly knowledgeable in both aspects and appreciate the opportunity to share our expertise.
