📣 🤓 *Book Launch Alert*! Did you miss the first book talk and are you (still) curious about whether and how the European Union can be held legally responsible for its contributions to human rights harms? Or why, despite its commitment to human rights, legal actions against EU entities for contributions to human rights harms appear to fail in the field of #BorderManagement? Is the lack of legal responsibility simply because the EU hasn't really violated any obligations, a question of legal mobilization or instead, due to flaws in the EU's human rights responsibility framework? 📚 On November 28th, I’ll be presenting at the Faculty of Law and Criminology Ghent University, where I'll dive into the EU’s human rights responsibility regime—examining the critical flaws that hinder access to effective remedies for aggrieved individuals. 💡 This discussion will draw from my first monograph, "The EU's Human Rights Responsibility Gap," (Hart Publishing) featuring expert discussants Nicolas Angelet and Cecilia Rizcallah, and will be chaired by Prof. Inge Govaere.
