About us
We’re a Scottish charity with your mental health at heart. At Health in Mind, we’ve been promoting positive mental health and wellbeing in Scotland since 1982. We do this by providing a wide range of services to support people and enable them to make a positive difference in their lives. Individuals can approach us directly, or be referred to our services by their GP or another healthcare professional. Our hopeful, creative, and compassionate approach supports and empowers each person to lead a purposeful and meaningful life. We walk alongside the people accessing our services, supporting them to make changes and improve their quality of life. We’re community focused and see the potential in each person to live in a positive and fulfilling way. Our values are at the core of everything we do. We work with compassion; ensuring people feel valued and empowered to live the life they want to live. We demonstrate integrity in our work; doing the right thing at all times even when this takes great courage. We show respect for everyone we work with, work for and support through our services. We are passionate about realising potential; of the people using our services, our staff and our volunteers. Our approach is inclusive; we are keen to break down the barriers which prevent people from accessing resources that could improve their mental health and wellbeing.

May 2024 saw 100 walkers came together in the early morning for the first Darkness into Light … a 5k walk around Arthur’s Seat walking as the sun rises to symbolize hope and raise vital funds for mental health support. Jaimee Louise Gordon, who led last year’s event, shared: "Suicide prevention and mental health support means so much to me because we’ve all been affected by it, one way or another. Whether it’s us personally or somebody we know, we all have mental health, and we all need to look after it." Returning this year, the event is a chance to come together as a community, share hope, and make a tangible difference for those affected by suicide. Kirsty Greer from Health in Mind reflected: "Seeing the sense of community, love, and support this morning has been worth getting out of bed at 3am for. Every penny raised helps us provide dedicated support for people dealing with trauma, depression, anxiety, and more." Be part of something truly special. Join us at 4:15am on Saturday 10 May 2025 ☀️ Let’s take steps towards a brighter future, together. Sign up today and join us in this incredible journey from Darkness into Light: https://lght.ly/h6e0j3f

Yesterday, our team had a brilliant time celebrating Blue Cake Day! 🎂💙 The office was filled with delicious blue-themed bakes, laughter, and plenty of chatter over a cuppa. It was a lovely way to connect, catch up, and support mental health awareness together. A huge thank you to everyone who brought in their amazing bakes and joined in—it wouldn’t have been the same without you! 💙 Why not host your own Blue Cake Day? It’s a fun way to bring people together, spark conversations, and raise vital awareness for mental health. Get baking and make a difference!
