Hi, we're HECK! We make damn good gluten-free sausages, burgers & mince.
About us
Not all food is created equal. And neither are all food producers. Being small and independent means we can do things our way. Such as making our products in small batches for better flavour, using the finest ingredients, and pulling out all the stops to bring farmers’ market quality to your supermarket shelf. Yes, we’re uncompromising, but heck, that’s how we make damn good food! www.heckfood.co.uk

This month we’re talking all things mens health and testicular cancer 🥜🎾👑 One of our Co-Founders, Jamie Keeble, was diagnosed with testicular cancer at just 24. With courage and determination, Jamie got checked, received the treatment he needed, and today, he’s a reminder that early action saves lives. But now we’re on a mission to encourage all men to CHECK! Testicular affects 2,300 men in the UK every year, but our research shows that almost one in four British men are steering clear of checking themselves because they don’t know how to do it properly. That’s why we’ve teamed up Cahonas Scotland to raise awareness and help teach men how to check. A huge thanks to Jessica Jurkschat and the Yahoo Life UK team for sharing the full story - read it via the lin below. You can pick up our limited edition CHECK! packs in stores now, with proceeds going to Cahonas Scotland. https://lnkd.in/dWasirsc

A factory tour and sausage tasting, could there be a better way to spend a day? That’s how members of the Yorkshire Farmers Club spent last Wednesday. We were delighted to host the group and gain some valuable feedback - it’s always fun to see our products through fresh eyes (and taste buds!). The club is a new initiative created by the Yorkshire Rural Support Network at the Yorkshire Agricultural Society to bring together senior members of the county's farming community and give them a chance to take a break from day-to-day farm life. https://lnkd.in/emQdCqRM

We’re proud to be supporting Cahonas Scotland, the testicular cancer charity, after Jamie - one of our founders - discovered that he had testicular cancer in 2016. Nearly one in four British men are steering clear of checking themselves because they don’t know how to do it properly. Our Chicken Italia packs are getting a special edition makeover for Mens Health Month, including a QR code that will take you to vital information from Cahonas on how to check. Find our limited edition chicken sausage CHECK! packs in store and on our website now and don’t be a chicken - CHECK! https://lnkd.in/eCWM3EzV

We’re delighted to be supporting The Big Trek for Brain Injury through our community fund. BBC The Traitors star, Andrew Jenkins is walking 1200km across four nations to raise money and awareness for Headway - the brain injury association. 20 years ago Andrew was told he was unlikely to walk again after suffering a traumatic brain injury, now he’s taking part in a 42 day trek across the country. If you’d like to support Andrew and Headway, you can donate here: https://lnkd.in/druiUbKy

What a week! On Tuesday our brand new Community Bus made its inaugural trip taking locals, and The Yorkshire Vet, Peter Wright to Masham and then to Brymor Ice Cream. After carrying out door-to-door deliveries during the pandemic, we found that many local people struggle to get around due to the lack of bus routes in the area. Our new community bus will transport people from villages near our factory in Bedale to markets in Northallerton to combat rural isolation and boost local trade. https://lnkd.in/gsCiYvBH
