The team has done it again! Patrick McCarthy and colleagues from the insurance industry have completed another incredible journey to Ukraine. They drove essential vehicles, including five ambulances, from the UK to the Chernivtsi region to deliver vital aid. Thanks to the generosity of countless donors, the vehicles were filled with supplies, including bunk beds and bedding for 30, which were delivered to the City of Goodness orphanage. The journey wasn’t without its challenges, from vehicle breakdowns to navigating difficult conditions, but the team’s perseverance ensured their mission was a success. A huge thank you to Patrick, the team, and everyone who supported this effort through donations. #Charity #InsuranceIndustry
About us
Our lawyers are experts in their field and you would expect that. But we’re also people - with a passion for helping our customers, and each other, achieve the best possible outcomes. We won’t be beaten on customer service, on innovation and on building long-lasting relationships that deliver results. As a leading provider of legal and claims solutions to the UK and Ireland insurance markets, we’ve been disrupting the status quo since 1969. Since then we’ve expanded, and continue to expand, in all areas of commercial law with our well-established and fast growing team. At HF we do things differently, with a forward-thinking, innovative approach that’s genuinely built around a focus on our client’s needs – not our own. Our customers, including some of the biggest insurance companies in the country, work with us for that very reason. We work with our clients every day, to help them realise their potential for sustained growth, and deliver the best possible solutions for what they tell us they need. Not what we think they need. Not a typical law firm.

Last week, we had the privilege of running a mock trial at Deka Chambers on non-tariff injury claims and claims layering for Marshmallow. A big thank you to Roger André for the kind invitation. The proceedings were expertly hosted by Morgan Davies, with Brendan Hill stepping into the role of witness. It was a fantastic experience and a valuable chance to exchange insights on some of the critical challenges in this area. #PersonalInjury #CivilFraud #MockTrial

HF and Admiral Insurance have saved over £600,000 by exposing a fundamentally dishonest claim. The claimant sought £360,000 following a 2019 road traffic accident, falsely claiming he was unable to work or walk more than 10-20m. However, surveillance revealed he exaggerated his injuries, misled the DWP, and fabricated a job offer. Thanks to the efforts of Alex Wilkinson and Philip Melia, the court found the claimant was able to work and lead a normal life. HHJ Bird dismissed the claim, concluding the claimant had deliberately lied to inflate his claim. He now faces over £100,000 in costs. Discrimination in international sport is an emotive topic, which gives rise to a difficult balancing act between sporting equity, safety, and inclusivity for athletes. Lord Coe’s recent comments, made during his campaign for the IOC Presidency, have reignited the debate as he calls for the IOC to take the lead in setting a clear and consistent policy on gender category eligibility. Imogen Mitchell-Webb highlights some of the most high-profile international legal cases where sporting regulations have been challenged on the grounds of discrimination, as well as discussing what the future may hold in this developing and complex area. For a number of years we’ve been collaborating with the taxi licensing industry, working closely with the Institute of Licensing (The IOL) to address key issues affecting taxi drivers and the wider licensing community. For the third consecutive year, Kevin H. was invited to speak at the IOL’s National Training Conference. This year, Kevin was joined by Kieran Saunders ACFS from Hastings Direct, who brought a unique and invaluable perspective to the conversation as both an experienced insurance fraud investigator and a former taxi driver. Together, they delivered an engaging and insightful presentation. We’re excited about the plans already underway for future collaborations between our industries on this vital topic! #NTC2024 #TaxiLicensing #InsuranceFraud
