As we head to the crazy Christmas period, this is your annual reminder to be kind to people working in hospitality …. even when they get it wrong. Working countless hours, eating on their feet, missing out on festivities with friends and family and working yourself ragged are things all hospitality workers will be familiar with over the next 2 months. So, if they do get it wrong and your coffee comes with the wrong syrup, or they forget to swap your salad for chips, or, heaven help us, you order no ice and your drink comes with ice, just remember how hard they're working to try and make your experience special. Highly Recommended Hotels (HRH) were invited to the Classic British Hotels & Resorts conference yesterday at Fairlawns Hotel & Spa. A day crammed with useful stats and initiatives and an inspirational talk from Keynote Speaker, Purusha Gordon … you could have heard a pin drop as she spoke of sailing the Pacific Ocean with her female team of four and becoming a world record holder.

Congratulations to our Highly Recommended Hotels (HRH) member No.15 Great Pulteney by GuestHouse Hotels for scooping the BEST CITY HOTEL IN THE U.K. in the Food and Travel magazine Readers' Awards 2024. What an absolute triumph for Will Hardwick and his team at No. 15. To beat off competition from the likes of The Ritz, The Four Seasons on Park Lane and The Hari, is testament to the team's commitment to delivering excellence 🎉

What were Highly Recommended Hotels (HRH) up to last week? Hugely productive week meeting with Shaun Wright from GuestHouse Hotels along with my colleague Louise Chapman, then visiting new member hotels No.15 Great Pulteney - a great place to catch up with Harry Murray MBE.MI.FIH. and Sally Everton 萨莉·埃弗顿 (HRH US Ambassador). Then onto No.124 Brighton for a hard hat tour (due to open 4th Nov!) before heading for an overnight seaside treat at No.42 Margate. Even made time for some client presentations along the way! Ps The breakfast menu at No.15 Great Pulteney is heavenly!! … tirimisu for breakfast anyone? … it’d be rude not to!! 😋
