We all got to come down to the Jorvik Viking Centre to see the winter digital trail we created, and the objects that inspired our animations! It was so much fun to see the real artefacts that we had been animating for this project, and then get to scan the QR codes for ourselves to rewatch our videos. The Jorvik winter trail is a fantastic day out this festive season, so bring your family and friends down and have a look yourself! Thanks to Lucas N. for taking the time to show us around Jorvik and answering all our burning viking questions!

At the end of November, we had the pleasure of returning to Craven College to provide a 2D Animation Walk Cycle Workshop with the Media Production students. We covered the animation principles, characterisation and even quadrupeds thanks to some brilliant furry four-legged characters the students had designed! A huge thanks to Screen Yorkshire for their support and help with these workshops, it's great to be able to get students engaged and excited about what animation can do! Also thanks to Ben Pearson at Craven College for a fantastic welcome back to give another workshop. If you, your school or company is interested in an animation workshop, please get in touch by emailing us at hijinkstudios@gmail.com

Hijinks have landed in Jorvik! We have had the honour of working with York Archaeology to create six animated videos for their amazing winter digital trail. Featuring classic Norse characters like Thor and Loki, as well as some you might not have heard before, there's something for everyone. See some of our favourite clips from this project, or come down to York and visit the Jorvik Viking Centre to see the full videos!

Reignite VI: Culture Makes Places was an exceptional event combined with the first UNESCO City of Media Arts EXPO. This was the sixth instalment of our Reignite event series, bringing together people working in York across all sectors to consider how we can push the creative industries and media arts further in the region. We are galvanising York's UNESCO City of Media Arts designation to enhance opportunities, create educational pathways, develop jobs and drive economic impact. This event was particularly pivotal, as we welcomed guests from three UNESCO Cities of Media Arts – Joana Miranda Braga (Portugal), christoph kremer (Austria), and Sami Ylisaari Oulu (Finland) – to share how they leverage culture to drive transformative change in their cities. Mayor of York and North Yorkshire David Skaith opened the event, speaking about the potential for significant creative growth in the region. Reignite VI concluded with a visit to the UK's first UNESCO City of Media Arts EXPO, celebrating a decade of York’s designation. 25 inspiring exhibitors shared their innovative projects, showcasing the incredible work happening across film, games, design & VFX in York and North Yorkshire. The next instalment, Reignite VII, will focus on art and technology! More information coming soon... Huge thanks to: York BID, University of York, Heather Niven, City of York Council, Sami Ylisaari, Joana Miranda, christoph kremer, David Skaith, Joan Concannon, Make It York, York Museums Trust, Soapy Events, Peel.X, Viridian FX, The Distance | App Developers, AY-PE, BRIGHT WHITE LIMITED, Lást: Design, Maps & Illustration, Pilot Theatre, Orillo Films, Revolution Software Ltd, XR Stories and XR Network+, Four Wheel Drive, Carly J., Marzena Madziag, Wojciech Sukiennik, EmAble adaptive clothing, Sarah Schiewe, Gavin Priestley, Hijinks Studios, Fly Flow Media, Iris Graphics Ltd, Jacob W., Laura Sanderson, Art is my Career® (AIMC), Pollen Studio
