Three additional train sets arrived safely at San Ying line depot in New Taipei city on November 21st, bringing us to a total of 17 sets delivered so far. New train sets made their way after being manufactured at Kasado works in Japan from 15th November. We are now entering the next phase with a series of local tests to get ready for service operation. New $100 million investment to upgrade Hitachi Rail’s SelTrac™ Communication-Based Train Control (CBTC) signalling system. Our SelTrac™ CBTC technology, pioneered in Ontario is deployed across urban rail lines around the world. SelTrac™, our digital signalling solution uses continuous communication between trains and infrastructure, for safe, efficient and reliable train operations. Thanks to the support of Invest Ontario, we can expand our research and development to integrate Artificial Intelligence, 5G Communications, edge and cloud computing, to develop the next generation of SelTrac™. The investment will give rise to 100 new jobs and retain our cohort of 1000 people located in our engineering excellence centre in Toronto.
