Congratulations to Rory Taylor and Ellen Gammell, who recently celebrated one year with the business. Ellen joined us last October after finishing her A-levels in Business, Product Design and PE, and has taken us by storm! Over the last year, she has learnt the Construction and Roofing business and was very quickly self-sufficient and able to keep us all ticking over while Sofia Sandullo is off on her maternity leave. We are excited to see where her career blossoms in our business. Ellen said " Having decided that University wasn't going to be the right pathway for me, I began applying for various roles in the Construction industry, I had always known, that construction would be a sector I would love to work in. I met with Sofia back in the early Autumn of 2023 and was offered the job after my first interview. I continue to be grateful to Aaron Hodgson and the team for the experience and support I received here at Hodgson Group and I am excited for my future in the business." On 11th December 2024, Rory celebrated his first year with Hodgson Construction, in the newly created role of Commercial Director. Rory joined the team having previously worked as a Quantity Surveyor for several high-end residential contractors on prestigious construction projects. Rory has a wealth of experience in the industry, has brought a new dynamic to our team and has enabled us to take on additional projects this year. Rory said about the last year at Hodgson-Group "Reflecting on my first year as Commercial Director at Hodgson Construction, I am proud of what we have accomplished as a team and the progress we have made in achieving our goals. There is still room for improvement and growth but I am thriving for that opportunity. This year has been both challenging and rewarding, as I have worked to drive growth, strengthen our partnerships and deliver additional value to our clients. I am especially grateful for the dedication and collaboration of my colleagues whose support has been invaluable. On Saturday we celebrated with customers, colleagues, family and friends the official move to our new North London Headquarters. After months of planning and renovation, we finally cut the ribbon and welcomed everyone to join us for champagne, food and a visit from our local Mayor. Hodgson Group launched in 2014 as Hodgson and Sons Limited and at that time there was a Construction division, then in 2022, the company created a new division called Hodgson Roofing, with its own Roofing Director and an independent strategy to grow revenue away from the business’s in-house roofing works. Hodgson Group now plans to grow the business again using the new offices as the base for expansion. I am an opportunist and will also strive to better my business, to drive for new experiences and support my team to being the best version of themselves, after 10 years of successfully growing the Hodgson group, this is such an exciting time in our journey.
