  • On the eleventh day of Christmas, HSJ gave to me... 11 Downing Street’s budget... The Chancellor announced a £25.7bn increase in total health & social care revenue and capital funding as part of a two-phased Spending Review. NHS England’s ring-fenced revenue budget will increase by 4.7 per cent this year to £181.4bn and then another 3.3 per cent next year to £192bn. • On the ninth day of Christmas, HSJ gave to me... Nine Spec Comm regions... Many novel therapies and techniques are purchased via the specialised commissioning route. The new specialised commissioning stakeholder map is essential to understand for Pharma and Medtech. 9 ICBs or similar collectives are taking responsibility for it at a regional level.   Read more in our free NHS Annual Review: https://lnkd.in/ee7NJHy6 #nhs #hsj #pharma #medtech #nhsregions

  • On the eighth day of Christmas, HSJ gave to me... Eight(een) week breaches... Waiting times are a huge issue in the NHS. Prior to April 2020, there were an average of around 400,000 breaches of the 18-week standard per month. However, since then the number of breaches has now risen to more than 2 million. - How can you save the NHS time and resources so more staff can be deployed delivering care? - Can you streamline pathways and make them more efficient? - Can you offer solutions with tech, changing the healthcare setting or secondary prevention? • On the seventh day of Christmas, HSJ gave to me... Seven Darzi Drivers...    The NHS Plan will be the most important document for industry to understand in at least a decade. HSJ Advisory understand publication will happen in May 2025 – but what will be in it? A big clue lies in September’s Darzi review, when Lord Darzi identified seven drivers for future policy. Which of these can your engagement strategy align with? For more on Darzi and the NHS plan, you can download HSJ’s free NHS Annual Review. https://lnkd.in/ee7NJHy6 #nhs #hsj #darzi #nhsplan #pharma #medtech

  • On the sixth day of Christmas, HSJ gave to me... 6.5 million+ waiting... The NHS still has a stubborn patient backlog and this will be foremost in the mind of politicians, managers and clinical customers. It’s a major pain point, and is driving a lot of policy. One way of expressing the backlog is by measuring “incomplete pathways”. According to the latest data we’ve analysed in our publication #StateoftheNation, this now stands at around 6.5 million. It’s coming down, but there’s still much more to do. For more on the current NHS, download our FREE publication, State of the Nation: https://lnkd.in/eue5gkQN #nhs #hsj #pharma #medtech #nhsdata #nhsbacklog
