🚉 Looking back at 2024: Wansford Road Station’s New Chapter! 🏗️ As 2024 comes to a close, we’re happy to celebrate an exciting year for the historic Wansford Road Station Building. Originally built in 1867, this heritage asset was saved from demolition and is well on its way to a new life at Railworld Wildlife Haven in Peterborough! 🌿🚂 Lying in the path of the A47 widening project, the station was carefully dismantled, with each piece meticulously labeled and stored - forming a 'kit of parts' ready for reconstruction. Thanks to the work of Hudson Architects, who conducted the feasibility study and obtained planning and demolition consents, and our partners, the station is now ready to rise again in its new location. Once completed, it will serve as the gateway to the Nene Valley Railway and Railworld Wildlife Haven, offering a café, seating, ticket hall, and visitor WC facilities. This project will greatly enhance the visitor experience for these iconic local attractions 🙌 We’re thrilled to see this piece of history being revived and look forward to what 2025 will bring! ✨ NENE VALLEY RAILWAY LIMITED - Stakeholder Railworld Wildlife Haven - Stakeholder Fordson Developments - Contractor Project Lead - Lewis Williams #UKArchitects #HeritagePreservation #2024Recap #HudsonArchitects

🌿 Looking back on an incredible year for CobBauge 🌿 As we reflect on 2024, we are filled with pride and excitement for all we achieved, alongside partners Grocott & Murfit Ltd, with the first-ever UK CobBauge home 🏡🌍 As well as the Open House events, one of our standout moments was winning the Climate Action Award at the Norfolk Constructing Excellence Awards - a huge milestone for the team and a testament to the sustainable future of construction. Our CobBauge House was also featured in the May 2024 edition of Building Magazine, shining a spotlight on the innovative work behind this project. Adding to the success, the CobBauge House was shortlisted at the Unlock Net Zero Awards for Innovation of the Year – Product. While we didn’t take home the top prize, being recognised among the best in the industry was an honor in itself. We’re also proud to have shared our knowledge with the release of the CobBauge Guide for Designers and detailed drawings, now available as open-source resources on our website. These guides have been designed to help architects, designers, builders, and sustainability advocates embrace CobBauge in their own work. 2024 was a year of remarkable achievements for Hudson Architects, and we couldn’t be more excited about what lies ahead for the future of sustainable building! 💚 #CobBauge #SustainableBuilding #Throwback #ClimateAction #Innovation #NetZero #Construction #Architecture Photos: Joakim Borén

🎄✨ What an incredible time we had at this year’s Hudson Architects Christmas party! 🎅🎁 Our festive celebration kicked off with a special behind-the-scenes tour of Norwich Castle, thanks to Tom Lefever from Conisbee and Rob Hamilton from Morgan Sindall Construction. It was such a unique experience exploring this iconic landmark! 🏰 The fun continued with a Christmas quiz, hosted by quizmasters Lewis and Katey, followed by the challenge of an Escape Room (spoiler: we escaped!). 🎉 Dinner at XO Kitchen was delicious, with some Secret Santa gifting to add extra holiday cheer 🎁 We rounded off the night with drinks and laughter at the pub, making memories that will last well into the new year! A huge thank you to everyone who made this event so special – here's to our fantastic team - enjoy your holiday season and we look forward to an even brighter 2025! 🎅🥂✨ #ChristmasParty #TeamCelebration #NorwichCastle #HudsonArchitects #HolidayFun #TeamSpirit #Norwich

It’s a small world after all… Last year, building on the momentum from our Net Zero Neighbourhoods talk at the Building Centre, we hosted an event as part of FANN23, the Festival of Architecture in Norwich & Norfolk. FANN23 celebrated architecture in Norwich and Norfolk, running from September to November 2023. At our event, we presented this 1:20 scale model of the Net Zero Neighbourhoods project and gave a talk on its key features. We also showcased the CobBauge and FibreBroads projects, along with a sustainable materials library.
