This is a good read! For many people working on town centre projects, it is stating the obvious but we don't read about this enough. It's usually about stores closing and nostalgia focused.... "People share their memories of the high street as if it were a once trusty dog who had long since passed." Key points - online didn't kill physical stores - retail became mediocre so we accepted mediocre with doorstep delivery rather than heading out - customer service and product knowledge (and shopfloor staff) almost disappeared - there's plenty of things happening to support a reset - nail bars and barber shops included - retailers inovating with new premises, offers and approach should reap the rewards of trying harder https://lnkd.in/eyT3H-M6 #highstreets #towncentres #retail #highstreetpositives Laura Harris
