  • We had the pleasure of attending the Westminster Insight-Get Active sport strategy meeting in London last week. It was great to meet and hear from leaders in the sporting and health field and understand more about government and country wide priorities for health in 2024-2029 so we can bring those influences into Cumbria. If any of our Cumbria third sector friends would like to know more about the meeting or read the slides please get in touch with Lisa or Julia.

  • We are so thrilled to be one of the recipients of the Break the Mould funding. our project will be lead by a younger person themselves aged 22 and support people aged 16-24 to find their own unique purpose, think about jobs that they will thrive in and socialise. We cant wait to start!

The Break the Mould team did an excellent job selecting seven projects (out of 47) across Cumbria and Lancaster District. The quality of applications was very high and they wished they could have funded them all, but they had to make some difficult decisions. Congratulations to Lancaster Youth Project, St John's Hospice, Always Another Way, The Brewery Arts Centre Kendal, iCan Wellbeing Group, North Allerdale Development Trust and the Kent Estuary Youth Project For more information about each project, you can go here - https://lnkd.in/em2uiwNh The Break the Mould project was funded by the Francis Scott Trust and supported by @CumbriaYouthAlliance and @LancasterCVS.

  • Were thrilled to say that we're back working with patients in Brampton Community hospital. We visit the hospital weekly, sitting with patients and guiding them through Chair Based movement and simple strength improvement exercises that they can continue to do on their own at home. This is in the the hope that building up their strength and mobility will get them discharged quicker and back into the comfort of their own homes. (Obviously only where appropriate). The visits are free to the patients thanks to funding from Brampton Community friends.
