This week, I had the pleasure of celebrating the grand opening of Aon’s new office in Dublin, Ireland, alongside the Minister for Finance in Ireland, Jack Chambers, our Ireland CEO, Rachael Ingle, and our talented colleagues in Dublin. Our presence in Ireland can trace its roots over 100 years, and we are proud to continue this important legacy in a new space that will deliver exceptional value and innovation to our clients. As I reflect on this visit, what stands out to me most is the collective commitment of our teams. Every conversation reinforces how deeply our people understand the challenges facing today’s businesses and how prepared we are to provide the forward-looking solutions our clients need. The passion and dedication in Dublin – seen across all our regions – fuels our ability to stay ahead of the curve and deliver meaningful impact.

Hovione officially inaugurates an expansion at its manufacturing facility in #Ringaskiddy, Co. Cork. The multi-million euro investment almost doubles the capacity of Hovione’s spray drying facilities in Ireland and will create more than 20 new positions. This latest investment reinforces Hovione’s position as the global leader in spray drying for #pharma applications. This manufacturing technology is especially important for inhalable therapies and oral medications with low bioavailability, enabling more effective treatments. “Since operations began here 15 years ago, Hovione has made a significant contribution both locally and nationally through employment and investment alike and I am pleased to be here today to mark another step on that journey" - Michael Lohan, CEO at IDA Ireland. Ireland has one of the richest folklore traditions in the world, with a storytelling heritage that is almost as ancient as the land itself. IDA Ireland was proud to partner with Seanchoíche - a global storytelling platform founded in Dublin - to host an event for our clients and partners in #Toronto. The evening focused on the theme of 'home' and leaders from Sun Life, 9 Story Media Group, National Bank of Canada, and Wattpad shared their extraordinary stories about what that means to them. We also had the honour of hearing from the Ambassador of Ireland to Canada, John Concannon, and the Chair & Founder of the Canada Ireland Foundation, Robert G. Kearns, who both shared wonderful and inspiring stories. At IDA Ireland, we are proud to support initiatives such as Seanchóiche that emphasise the importance of connection, creativity, and partnership in driving growth and building lasting relationships. #InvestInExtraordinary #InvestInIreland #ExtraordinaryStories

Episode five of The Leaders’ Room’s season two features John O’Beirne, CEO & Executive director at Square International. In this episode, John speaks about his approach to #leadership at Square, a $50bn fintech company that began with a simple but game changing idea. The company has grown from a single product to a whole suite of hardware and software for people to run every side of their businesses. But it began with a very simple innovation – a way to turn a smartphone into a point of sale. This was a game-changer for small and medium sized businesses.
