Mapping UK Charities through aDoddle.org - Creating a National Resource for Use at a Local Level
About us
If Everyone Cares CIC is: Where people, charities & businesses come together to create more 'Connected Communities'. With poverty said to be costing the UK economy £78 billion a year & disconnected communities costing another £32 Billion. With 12 men under the age of 45 committing suicide each day, foodbanks working at capacity, mental health hitting the news on a daily basis and isolation affecting more than 1 in 4 people across the country ... ... The list of statistics, that should be shocking each of us, goes on and on. Yet we are a caring society with over 200,000 charities and community projects providing critical support to some of the most vulnerable people in the county - yet those organisations are our 'Hidden Emergency Service' because there is nowhere that brings this information together in one place so that it can be found easily. Sadly, too often, it is easier to find a hotel or restaurant on Google Maps than it is to find help and support when you need it most. We want to change this: Firstly by mapping UK charities and community projects on aDoddle.org (previously - Ododow.org), an Interactive Community Map that will make it easy for everyone to find or give help locally - so that no one is left out or left behind. We are inviting organisations to add their details to aDoddle.org - It's Free. As the number of organisations on the map increases this will become a truly National Resource for Use at a Local Level. Whether you need help, want to help, are an existing project that wants to connect with others or a business that wants to support local organisations there will be something for you. aDoddle.org will be funded by businesses that want to connect with and support their communities via TheCommunityPledge.com. Profit we will be placed it back into communities via established Community Foundations. There are over 5.2 million businesses in the UK - If just 0.25% of them join there will be in the region of £3m to do this.

Did you know our aDoddle dot org website has over 100 Regional Connected Community Maps? 📍 We often see in the news there is a need for people and communities to find available support, opportunities to #Volunteer and places to connect with others, both within their own community and at the same time being able to see what was happening in other parts of the country where friends or relatives live. aDoddle’s connected area-based maps are more than maps – they are a growing UK wide resource for use at a local level. Working together to make the smaller, lesser known and vitally important grass roots #Charities and organisations ‘aDoddle’ to find. Helping to connect people with their community – one click at a time. Click on the link in Comments to view #Exeter, #SouthWest Community Map for opportunities in this area

The 6th February 2025 is Time to Talk Day, which is about creating supportive communities with family, friends, or colleagues about #MentalHealth. Time to Talk Day is an annual awareness day held at the beginning of February each year. It’s a day for us all to start a conversation about mental health. Talking about mental health isn't easy. But a conversation has the power to change lives. #TimeToTalkDay is run by #Mind and Rethink Mental Illness, in partnership with the Co-op. One in 4 of us will experience a mental health problem in any given year. *We want everyone to feel comfortable talking about mental health – whenever they like. *Talking about mental health helps to create supportive communities where we can talk openly about mental health and feel empowered to seek help when we need it. * Opening up the conversation about mental health problems is important – by talking about it, we can support ourselves and others.
