Laparoscopic dreams! Having finished the Improve Veterinary Education certificate course for endoscopy and endosurgery I hoped for a case to really highlight the benefit of minimally invasive surgery. Daisy has been treated with phenobarb for quite some time for seizures before a good investigation diagnosed insulinoma. Surgical removal of the primary tumour can help manage hypoglycaemic episodes but not extend life expectancy. This makes major abdominal surgery quite a challenging decision. However with minimal invasive approach, just three small 5-10mm incisions we we’re able to remove the tumour with minimal morbidity. Loving working with Burtons Medical Equipment Ltd with their new laparoscopic equipment from SPiTZ Vet Care. Last week, our team joined forces with Dr. Scott Miller to volunteer at the Cotswolds RSPCA. We had a fantastic time cleaning kennels, playing with cats, and spreading some holiday cheer. We delivered the first batch of donations collected from our Christmas campaign! Let's continue to support animal welfare together. You’ve still got time to help! You can donate pet food, hygiene products, toys and other pet accessories. You can drop off your donations at our office: Ground Floor, Delta 1200 Welton Road, Delta Business Park, Swindon. We will be accepting donations during business hours (8 a.m. until to 5 p.m.) up to 31st January. Let's give back to those who can't ask! Find out more here https://bit.ly/4a4csrn
