"Through my placement I have realised that I am cut out for academia and that research is definitely a career path I want to pursue." 👆 One of our wonderful #In2research participants Kimberly McBride perfectly sums up why support and opportunities such as accessible research placements are so important to improve representation in STEM and academia. As part of the programme, Kim undertook an 8-week funded placement with the Qualitative Data Preservation and Sharing (Q-DaPS) team. She was based at the Primary Care and Population Health department within the UCL Institute of Epidemiology and Health Care. Read her full story below. Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine (IPEM) x In2scienceUK In2careers Speed Networking Event On Tuesday, 19 November, the Institute of Physics of Physics, London came alive with meaningful conversations at the IPEM-sponsored Speed Networking Event, connecting passionate In2careers members with inspiring medical physics professionals. The event was conceived building on previous IPEM / In2careers collaborations and expert guidance on navigating STEM careers beyond medicine with IPEM's webinar theme: “If not Medicine, Then What? A Career in Medical Physics!” This incredible evening provided attendees with: 🌟Insights into the diverse world of medical physics through real-life stories shared by industry professionals. 🌟The chance to network and build professional connections, fostering confidence and curiosity in this niche yet impactful field.
