Ask The Expert ❔ - The Energy Price Cap
Introducing our new video series, 'Ask The Expert', where one of our Swans will be sharing information on an energy related topic every fortnight.
Our first episode is with James Groves 🦢, Managing Director, as he explains what the Energy Price Cap is.
On the 25th of February, the new domestic energy price cap rates for Gas and Electricity were published for the period 1st of April 25 – 30th of June 25. As expected, the rates are higher and will impact in the region of 22 million households, that are not in energy contracts.
For the typical domestic customer paying by DD, the annual cost has increased from £1,738 to £1,849, subject to their actual energy consumption. This reflects increases in energy wholesale prices, which more recently have started to fall, allowing the possibility that the rates from 1st of July 2025 may be lower.
Don’t miss the full episode - Link in the comments below 👇
Please note that since filming this video, market direction has changed, and the number of customers thought to be on the cap are now lower.

Excited to say that the Indigo Swan Neurodivergent Work Group is up and running! After a lunch and learn by the lovely Gemma 🌟 Crane last year, I have been so keen to get this group started and am proud that we have now officially had our first meeting. Yay! 💜
It was so good to get together and discuss what we feel the group could do and what it will mean for one another, as well as the wider team and the business in general.
You might be wondering why a Neurodivergent Work Group is necessary?
Did you know it is estimated that around 1 in 7 people in the UK are Neurodivergent?
With that in mind, consider the following statistics from the CIPD 'Neuroinclusion at Work' 2024 report:
• 1 in 5 Neurodivergent employees reported experiencing harassment or discrimination in the workplace due to their neurodivergence.
• 38% of those surveyed say their organisation provides meaningful support to neurodivergent individuals.
• Only just over half say they would feel comfortable asking for support or adjustments at work.
• 55% of employers surveyed say the culture of their organisation is neuroinclusive.
• 32% of organisations say neuroinclusion is not a focus for them.
With our Neurodivergent Work Group, at the very least I hope to create a safe space where no one feels shame or fear in opening up and asking for help, and where we can create better opportunities to provide the necessary support.
But, I also have big picture goals too... 🤫
Neuroinclusion benefits EVERYBODY.
What does your workplace do to support neurodiversity? 🤔

Random Acts of Kindness Day 💜
Today is Random Acts of Kindness Day, an annual celebration that encourages people to undertake small gestures, with the aim to make the world a better place through simples acts of kindness. It originated in Denver, Colorado by the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation in 1995, and has since increased in popularity, with people celebrating it all around the world.
The good deeds that you do don’t have to be big gestures, it could be something as small as smiling at a stranger, paying someone a compliment, or even paying it forward at your local café. Just something that creates some positivity and brightens someone else’s day.
“Kindness is igniting a light in someone else for no reason other than to watch them enjoy the glow.”
According to a 2020 survey by the Mental Health Foundation, kindness has a positive impact on the mental health of 63 per cent of adults in the UK.
We would love to know what you are doing to celebrate Random Acts of Kindness Day.

Radio Teleswitch Service (RTS)
The Radio Teleswitch Service (RTS), also known as the Dynamic Teleswitch Service (DTS) was introduced in the 1980s as a way of allowing Storage, Panel and Immersion heaters to take advantage of the lower night energy tariff.
As of the 30th of June 2025, the longwave radio signal that controls the hot water and heating on and off timings, for over 800,000 of these old traditional dial Electricity meters will end.
This may mean that the heating or hot water remains permanently on or off, with no distinction between the higher day tariff and the lower night, which could mean higher bills.
