  • It can’t be underestimated how important and critical water and sanitation is for our survival. When we have this in abundance at our finger tips we often take this for granted when we pour a glass of water, take a shower or wash our cars. However across the world there are people and communities that don’t have any clean safe drinking water or safe means of sanitation. WaterAid is an organisation that ensures they do their best to provide clean drinking water and safe means of sanitation to people and communities that don’t have these means we take for granted. There are plenty of ways to support WaterAid and their quest and if only 1 person donates or drives an initiative from this post then it will be a post worth positing. 🗞 The recent article published in The Telegraph (1st July 2024), underscores a significant yet often overlooked barrier in achieving ambitious housing targets with the shortage of skilled construction workers. With the number of construction workers from EU countries declining sharply, the UK government has been compelled to place building skills on the shortage occupation list, with an aim to draw skilled workers from other countries.  The Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) estimates that an additional 225,000 workers will be needed by 2027. However, there has been insufficient effort to boost apprenticeships. The true challenge for the new government is not just to set targets for housing but to find the people to build these homes. 💡 Back in January 2023, Marcus Bennett (CITB Head of Industry Analysis and Forecasting) told Construction News "The challenge for the industry is not just that it needs to recruit people. Industry also needs to think about how it makes itself a place that everyone wants to work.”  📩 Our latest Infracom article delves into how the 'One Team' and 'Extreme Ownership' approach can create a cohesive and empowering workplace culture by fostering unity and accountability. As well as providing professional services to industry, Infracom are working with companies to significantly enhance employee satisfaction and retention, driving long-term success. 🔎 To discover the transformative impact of this mindset on your organisation please reach out to enquiries@infracomgroup.co.uk and also take a look at our website www.infracomgroup.co.uk #ConstructionIndustry #SkilledWorkers #WorkplaceCulture #EmployeeRetention #OneTeam #ExtremeOwnership #TalentAttraction #EmpoweringTeams #ConstructionSkills #WorkforceDevelopment #Apprenticeships #UKConstruction #IndustryChallenges #InfracomGroupLtd #LongTermSuccess You can find the Telegraph publication that inspired our article here: https://lnkd.in/erecjhcn
