Milestone for Andritz Perfojet... Andritz Perfojet is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, as a pioneer of hydroentanglement technology which allows the highly efficient bonding of almost any type of fibre into nonwoven fabrics without additional binders. Over the past four decades, more than 300 Jetlace hydroentanglement systems have been installed, improving the quality and efficiency of wipes, hygiene and personal care products as well as geotextiles, filters, artificial leather substrates, battery separators and gas diffusion layers. Leading textile solutions provider Shima Seiki of Wakayama, Japan will be exhibiting at the upcoming Japan International Apparel & Non-Apparel Manufacturing Trade Show (JIAM 2024) in Osaka, Japan. Mayer & Cie, headquartered in Albstadt, Germany, will deliver its first newly-developed model MR-11 braiding machine with 48 carriers to a customer before Christmas, with delivery of a first MR-15 model also equipped with 48 carriers to follow early next year. With 48 carriers, customers benefit from larger inner tube diameters, short set-up times and unaltered coil volumes when processing both yarns and wires. ReBioCycle to explore biopolymer recycling options... With €7.5 million in EU funding, the four-year ReBioCycle project, which launched in October, involves 20 companies working to establish technology readiness for recycling technologies for bioplastics such as PLA and PHA. Hubs will be established for different technologies and technology readiness levels (TRLs) in the Netherlands, Italy, Spain and partly in Ireland and will be focus on all aspects of mechanical, chemical, enzymatic and microbial recycling options.
