It was fantastic to host Elaine Fahey here at Maynooth. Prof Fahey presented her research on Max Schrems and his NGO nyob and the "Schrems effect" that his (surprisingly limited) litigation has had. A wonderful talk which led to a lively discussion. Thank you, Elaine!

⚖️ Yesterday, ISEL hosted its Winter lecture with guest speaker Judge Damjan Kukovec, General Court, Court of Justice of the European Union. In his lecture, Judge Kukovec addressed the recent amendment to the Protocol of the ECJ, which empowers the EU General Court to hear preliminary references by national courts in several specific fields, including customs law, VAT and passengers rights for the first time. In the following Q&A session, all participants (including our law students) were able to ask their questions about any aspect of the 'The evolving jurisdiction of the General Court of the EU'. 👉 With this event, we closed the ISEL seminar series for the term. We will reconvene in January, so be on the lookout! The City Law School City, University of London
