⭐ Congratulations to Dr. Jonathan Glass and Dr. Zachary Simmons who share the Alliance's 2024 Forbes Norris Award for their outstanding contributions to ALS/MND research and patient care. Dr. Glass, known for his compassionate care and pioneering stem cell research, has significantly impacted the field globally through collaborations and mentorship over more than 30 years in this field. Dr. Simmons, with over four decades of experience, has advanced ALS/MND care through telehealth initiatives and research, enriching the lives of countless patients and their families. The award celebrates the real difference they have made in the lives of thousands of people affected by ALS/MND. ⭐ Congratulations to Dr. Alisa Apreleva and Dra. Tatiana Mesquita e Silva who both received the Alliance's 2024 Allied Health Professional Award for their significant contributions to ALS/MND care. Alisa Apreleva, PhD, MT-BC, NMT, is a music therapist, researcher and community educator who has spent over 10 years working with ALS/MND patients. She has developed music-based therapies that improve quality of life, and runs Music.ALS, a free online resource filled with practical tools for using music in ALS/MND care. Tatiana Mesquita e Silva, PT, PhD, is a physiotherapist who has been a leader in developing new treatments for ALS/MND, particularly in the field of hydrotherapy. She has published educational materials and trained professionals on best practices for care. She is also a long-time advocate for the ALS/MND community, working with the ALS/MND association in Brazil and the Alliance. Find out more: https://lnkd.in/gSajNQc3

To honour Euan MacDonald's contributions to the ALS/MND community in Scotland and beyond, we're sharing this video created by the Euan MacDonald Centre. Euan was a champion for ALS/MND research and awareness. Diagnosed in 2003, he and his father made it their mission to bring more attention to ALS/MND research. 💙 Euan’s work made a lasting impact. He founded two charities and helped inspire a University of Edinburgh spinout company, pushing research and support for people affected by ALS/MND.
