Cargo Surveyor at International Marine Survey Limited

🚢 Discharge Survey Completed at Newport I recently completed a discharge survey at Newport, overseeing the unloading of corn and wheat in bulk. Despite intermittent rain, we successfully managed to clear the ship with the dedicated help of the ABP stevedores. Handling grain cargo in unpredictable weather was challenging, but the teamwork made it possible! 🌾 Knowing that these grains will eventually make their way into people’s homes makes my role in this process incredibly rewarding. As a surveyor, I take pride in maintaining the quality of these crucial commodities, ensuring they meet the standards expected for everyday use. In addition, I'm excited to be appointed as the surveyor for the upcoming steel coil loading operation for TATA Steel. Experiences like these make each project unique and fulfilling. Looking forward to more challenging and meaningful work! #NewportPort #CargoSurvey #GrainDischarge #ABP #SteelIndustry #TATA #TATASteel #SupplyChain #Logistics #QualityControl #MaritimeIndustry #PortOperations #FoodSecurity

Cargo Surveyor at International Marine Survey Limited

Investigating Cargo Damage and Learning About Steel Coil Processing This week, I had the opportunity to step beyond the usual routine and visit a warehouse to investigate damage to a few steel coils for one of our customers. While inspecting the cargo was the main objective, the experience turned out to be much more insightful than I anticipated. I visited USS Ltd and Sebden Steel Service Centres Ltd at Birmingham. As I walked through the facility, I got a first-hand look at how steel coils are cut and processed. It was fascinating to see how raw materials are transformed into various products that drive industrial operations. Watching the precision and skill involved in handling these heavy coils highlighted the importance of quality control at every stage—from shipping to processing. For me, the visit was a reminder of the vital role we play in ensuring the integrity of cargo. Understanding the journey of these materials from transport to manufacturing also underscored the need for thorough inspections and effective damage prevention strategies. Every experience adds a new layer of knowledge, and this one has certainly broadened my understanding of the steel industry and logistics. #Logistics #CargoInspection #SteelIndustry #SupplyChain #ContinuousLearning #MaritimeIndustry #QualityControl

Pleased to share that I recently completed a discharge survey on a vessel at Swansea Port, overseeing the discharge of a fertiliser cargo. Ensuring accurate measurement and compliance during such operations is always rewarding, as it plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity of the supply chain. From precise cargo calculations to safety adherence, every step in the process brings a new challenge and a learning opportunity. Proud to contribute to smooth and efficient port operations once again!
