Congratulations to 4c Engineering in securing two separate funding boosts.
Throughout the last year we've been working on some exciting direct generation technology alongside electrostatic generation experts, Cheros Srl (primarily Giacomo Moretti and Marco Fontana). The work we've completed technology has aimed to identify the potential this technology has to reduce the LCOE of wave energy conversion. Recently we've had a double boost; firstly being awarded a follow on project by Wave Energy Scotland to investigate the enabling technology required to allow DG technology to be commercialised and secondly, our team has won an $80k prize awarded by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) as part of their InDEEP programme. You can read more about it in this article in The Engineer UK. https://lnkd.in/gyGTt5mD #marinerenewables #directgeneration #innovation #technologydevelopment #engineeringthefuture

Great to see the official opening by HRH The Princess Royal of SRUC Rural and Veterinary Innovation Centre (RaVIC) at Inverness Campus. The new hub will be a base for SRUC staff - researchers, vets and advisers as well as offering accommodation for lease to small businesses. Going forward the focus of activity will be on developing new links between science and industry to help address planetary health challenges and grow the natural economy. Congratulations to SRUC principal Professor Wayne Powell, RaVIC director Professor George Gunn and the SRUC team. Excellent to see more innovation and collaborative working at the Campus.
