A wonderful session at the ISC France Aspire programme - Networking breakfast 'in conversation with' Rosy LAURENT today. This morning’s Aspire Breakfast was all about learning through shared experience. Rosy Laurent, Chief Operating Officer, Risk and Reinsurance Solutions - 2RS, shared with the Aspire participants her personal and professional journey during a stimulating discussion. Rosy reflected on her career, starting as a reinsurance actuary, moving to liability underwriting to management positions in re/insurance companies/broking firms in Europe. Finally, becoming a Director of Captives, and most recently an Executive member of 2RS. Conversation focused on building an expat career, the importance of believing in yourself, loving a challenge, embracing the joy of learning new things to broaden your competences and create new opportunities. Rosy also shared that balancing work, and personal life harmoniously had been a key component of her successful career. Rosy’s transparency and generosity in sharing her experience left everyone inspired. A special thanks to Kennedys, which graciously hosted the event in their offices. Today is #EqualPayDay 2024, when women in the UK begin working the rest of the year for free due to the gender pay gap. This year’s date has fallen earlier in the year, highlighting the fact that the gap has worsened for the first time since 2013. As financial insecurity and the dynamics that come with pay disparity represent a core barrier to an equitable workforce it is essential that companies report on their gender pay gap, regardless of size, as a step towards greater parity. ISC France hosted an Executive member's coaching workshop today, as they continued to accompany talented women in their reflective journey. Thank you to Sophie Muffang, Executive coach and author, for facilitating an inspiring and thought-provoking coaching workshop on the impostor syndrome for ISC France Executive members. The workshop focused on overcoming impostor syndrome from an individual and manager's perspective, how to build a successful career, and effectively manage and support team members. Sophie highlighted the importance of understanding the impostor syndrome’s features and roots, while leveraging our talents and listening to our inner voice to build strategies to overcome it. Participants were asked to share their experiences and commit to practical changes to boost their confidence and assertiveness.
