About us

Thanks to the support of people living in, working in, and who care about Islington, we are able to change lives for good in our borough. Since 2010, we've worked with a diverse range of partners on innovative, effective support for local people. So far, we've reached almost 30,000 people, supported by over 8,000 volunteers. We've done this because people living in Islington face complex challenges. We have the highest levels of depression and serious mental ill health in London. 38% of children here live in poverty. We have the least green space of any borough in the UK. We are the first of 20 (and counting) members of London's Giving, a movement that is growing collaborative local philanthropy in the capital. Join us today to help change even more lives.

  • Re-introducing ourselves for the New Year and for anyone who’s new around here! 👋🏼 Hi, we’re Islington Giving! We are a coalition of local people, businesses and organisations working together to create positive change in Islington. While Islington is full of opportunities, it is also one of the most unequal places in the country. That’s why we raise funds, give grants and share power to support local people and projects. Our vision of Islington is a strong, connected Islington where everyone can thrive. As the first ‘Giving’ in London, we inspired the London’s Giving movement, which is now active in 20 boroughs. Want to get involved? Let’s make it happen together! Get in touch with us today and visit our website to find out more. • Islington is a borough of contrasts - huge wealth sits right next to some of the country’s poorest neighbourhoods. Almost 15,000 young people here are growing up in poverty, and loneliness is on the rise. But together, we can change that. With your support, we can: 💜 Fund vital local projects for everyone in our communtiy 🙏 Help to combat loneliness and isolation 🏡 Make Islington a more equal, connected place 100% of your donation goes directly to local projects and organisations, helping real people, right here in our community. Every donation, small and big, adds up to something incredible. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/g_V4vVgr #GivingTuesday #IncredibleIslington #AppreciationPost #ThankYou

  • 🚨Would you know what to do in a life-threatening emergency? Unfortunately, for some young people, witnessing serious violence isn’t just a possibility – it’s a reality. That’s why YourStance is equipping them with essential skills through their Zero Responders workshops. With the funding from Islington Giving’s Young Grant Makers, they hope to work with 150 young Islington Residents during the three years, in a range of community settings and in Pentonville Prison. Jarah, Islington Giving Alumni Storyteller, recently joined a session and saw first-hand how these workshops are building confidence, resilience, and a safer community. Read about Jarah’s experience in our latest post. 🔗 Link in our comments! 👇🏼 #AwesomeAlumni #AlumniStorytellers #YoungGrantMakers #YouthEmpowerment #YouthViolence

Huge thank you to Google for hosting and providing their first Community Training Day of the year! 🙌🏽 We were inspired by the Community Leaders Panel on building your brand and reaching new audiences, where Ash Rahman (Pro Touch SA CIC), Emma Stewart MBE (Cook for Good), Hattie Foxwell (Little Village), led by Google's James Massey, shared invaluable insights. 📈💡 From the power of partnerships, embracing positive feedback without becoming complacent, continually striving for excellence, to the importance of staying true to your mission, their advice was a masterclass in growth and impact. We also explored AI in marketing with Google, learning how to use it strategically to amplify our reach and engagement. 📲💻 These events are so important in creating space to share learning in our community, build capacity of local organisations, and connect with our peers!
