NEW ETA REQUIREMENTS Travelling to the UK? Here’s What You Need to Know About the New ETA Requirements. Starting 8 January 2025, the UK has introduced Electronic Travel Authorisations (ETAs) for many travellers. This is required for visitors who don’t currently need a visa for short stays in the UK, or don’t have UK immigration status. Key Details Cost: £10 Validity: 2 years, allowing multiple visits of up to 6 months each. Who needs it? Most travellers, including children, infants, and transit passengers. An ETA doesn’t guarantee entry – it’s permission to travel, and immigration checks still apply on arrival. Who Needs an ETA? Eligible Non-Europeans Eligible Europeans, for travel starting 2 April 2025. Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Visitors Transit Passengers, even if you’re just passing through a UK airport, you’ll need an ETA. The judging panel praised Helen highlighted Helen’s inspiring mission when founding ISON Travel, to create opportunities for highly skilled professionals – especially women – through flexible, remote working environments. They highlighted Helen’s firm belief that, regardless of personal circumstances, every woman should have the opportunity to pursue a career in their chosen field. Because of this, she has given opportunities to highly skilled people who may otherwise not have been employed in the travel industry and, as a result, she has created an amazing, diverse team. Last week, Helen Cannon was honoured to go to the everywoman Entrepreneur Awards to hand her Woman of the Year Award onto this year’s winner, Lucy Goff, Founder of LYMA Life. Helen spoke about her experience of receiving the award last year, sharing how she initially didn’t recognise herself in the description of the winner. As she says, women often doubt themselves, and judge themselves daily. Am I good enough? Can I do this? Men don’t always think like this, she feels, or judge themselves in the same way. How many women go for a job interview or promotion and focus on the 20% they can’t do but men focus on the 20% they can do? Helen believes that women’s humility, though, is their strength, their superpower. Women face so many more obstacles in business. Our job now, she thinks, is for women to lift each other up – to bring people together, support each other, and encourage women to stop doubting – be that 10% bravery. Winning the award has opened doors in so many ways for Helen and the ISON team.
