Advent has begun, and you know the best gift you can give to your business? Up-to-date and relevant HR policies! 🎁 HR policies provide a description of what you and your employees are entitled to, and what both parties are expected to do. Some policies are legally required, while others aren’t, but the more policies you have, the more you keep your staff informed about the way you operate, and the less chance you’ve got of something slipping through the net. So, what policies could you have? Here are a few examples: 🟡 Redundancy 🟡 Equality and diversity 🟡 Discipline, capability and grievance 🟡 Bullying and harassment 🟡 Drugs and alcohol 🟡 Social media 🟡 Maternity/paternity/parental leave Whether you need your policies reviewed, redrafted, or you don’t have any policies at all, we can help – just call us on 01980 622167, or book a call and we’ll be happy to help. #HRpolicies #HumanResources #PeopleManagement #HRExpert

When the HR history books are written, 2025 and 2026 are likely to go down as BIG moments in the time. Because starting next year, the Government’s Employment Rights Bill starts moving forward, and even if only some of it gets actioned between now and 2026, it’ll change the face of employment law unalterably: 👉There are big proposed changes to sick pay rules, with a requirement for you to pay from day one. 👉Flexible working will also likely become much, much harder to refuse, when employers will need to show that the refusal was 'reasonable'. 👉The ‘two year’ rule will also disappear, which will mean unfair dismissal coming into play from the moment you hire someone. We’re just scratching the surface here, but the reality is that the way we hire, manage and fire staff is going to have to change drastically. Tomorrow at 1pm, I’m going to walk you through some of those changes on a live Zoom call, so you’ve got clarity on what you need to do (and when) next year and the year after. Is discussing Financial Wellness on your workplace culture radar? It's something which affects all of us, both practically and mentally, and yet it often doesn't get talked about much. "Financial wellness refers to an individual’s overall financial health and the absence of money-related stress. It encompasses various aspects, including: 🟢Ability to manage day-to-day expenses 🟢Preparedness for financial emergencies 🟢Confidence in long-term financial planning 🟢Freedom from overwhelming debt Struggle with financial issues can lead to decreased productivity, increased absenteeism, and higher stress levels in employees. By addressing these concerns, companies can create a more engaged and focused workforce." - HR News Human Resources departments could be great champions for financial wellness initiatives within organisations. As the leader of your company, your role is to provide direction for the business and drive and develop the culture. If you're unsure on what your company values are, it's hard to lead with confidence - so figure them out today! Grab a notebook or a Notes app, and list the most important values you want your team to embody. If you have a lot of them, try and focus the list down to the ones which feel timeless. As soon as you know what you want your company to value most, go share the message with your team...and keep sharing it, regularly and consistently. You are the compass for your business. Give your people a reason to follow you into the future. #workplaceculture #companyvalues #businesssuccess #howtolead #PeopleManagement #HumanResources

What's your opinion on the proposals for the Employment Rights Bill? Proposed changes include: 👉Day-one rights to request flexibility and 4-day weeks 👉Access to parental leave 👉The “right to switch off” – which will empower staff to disconnect from work outside regular hours and on weekends Breathe HR recently surveyed 526 senior leaders at British SMEs (with up to 250 employees) and found that the majority of SME leaders believe the changes will significantly benefit their organisations, as well as being a positive step forward for staff. Yet, this doesn't seem to be the case for leaders of bigger businesses. Where do you stand on this? We'd love to hear your thoughts 💬 Check out this article to read more about the survey: https://lnkd.in/ermEYjJb #righttoswitchoff #companyculture #employmentlaw2024 #companyvalues #PeopleManagement
