Fantastic achievement at CONSTRUCT Day 2024 🏆 👏 Firstly, huge congratulations to Harry Kipping-Bier who received the Young Achiever Award. The Young Achiever was awarded in recognition for his talent and dedication to his apprenticeship, along with his fantastic work ethic and desire to progress in his career. Harry began his Plant Mechanic apprenticeship at J P Dunn Construction in 2023. His commitment and skill earned positive feedback from both his workplace and college. Harry’s dedication to learning and self-improvement, along with his success in additional courses, has set a high standard for future apprentices. Harry is a valued team member, consistently demonstrating initiative, dedication, and a keen eagerness to learn. JP Dunn also received a highly commended Environment & Sustainability award for the TecDura inflatable stopend. The TecDura inflatable stopend streamlines the concreting process, offering quick installation and removal by inflating to 8 PSI. It allows immediate continuation of work after applying a retarder. This reusable stopend reduces waste and environmental impact, compared to single-use timber alternatives. For further details contact James@tecdura.com Finally, a massive well done to the team at Project Dexter in Harwell Science Park where we were shortlisted as a finalist for Project of the Year, under £5 million.

Support Rremzi Aliu Last December Rremzi Aliu suffered a spinal stroke. He was subsequently in hospital for three and a half months, then restricted to a wheelchair. Hopefully, with the help of physiotherapy and medication he will gradually return to mobility. This will be a long process. Rremzi and his son had been working for J P Dunn Construction as Pavers on our job at St Peters College. The quality of his work was impressive and drew much praise from both the Client and Willmott Dixon. Clearly these life changing circumstances have left him in a difficult situation and any contributions via this page will be gratefully received.

Surplus to Supper J P Dunn Construction Ltd has continued in its support of the charity Surplus to Supper with the provision of a new tarmac hardstanding adjacent to the Surplus Market and the refrigeration building at their Sunbury HQ. Surplus to Supper is active in sourcing and redistributing surplus food that would otherwise have to go to landfill. This is on a substantial scale with the charity collecting and donating on average 3 Tonnes of food per day and redistributing to foodbanks, schools, care homes, shelters, clubs, refuges, religious organisations and more. The Surplus Market is an important component as it helps generate the funds for the redistribution effort. The Market provides good quality food which would otherwise go to waste and is for everyone in the local community who needs fresh produce. All Market donations/ proceeds help Surplus to Supper in supporting local food banks, charities, school lunch projects and community groups across the local area. More details for Surplus to Supper can be found at www.surplustosupper.org
