We’re delighted to have attended Be Inclusive Hospitality’s annual Spotlight awards a few weeks ago. Founded by Lorraine Copes, the awards go some way to champion the diversity of the UK’s hospitality scene, and we are pleased to have been part of the celebrations. Over the past few months, we're also proud to have partnered with Lorraine to kickstart our EDI journey; formulating our policy and looking at the importance of EDI to JKS. We are keen to ensure that JKS is a welcoming and inclusive place to work — for all team members, guests, partners, and stakeholders. Being challenged on the way we do things, and considering as many viewpoints as possible, has driven our hugely beneficial partnership. By implementing this EDI policy, we aim to create a workplace and dining experience that inspires creativity and fosters collaboration across all backgrounds, abilities and personal characteristics. For us, a successful EDI policy is more than just words on paper. It requires genuine commitment and action from everyone at JKS. We acknowledge that we are at the beginning of this journey, and constantly learning from those around us. Lorraine’s guidance and advice has been crucial in ensuring that this is an educational piece for our team, at all levels. We have now begun with 2 training sessions for our senior team, with other awareness sessions continuing over the coming months.

The George Public House is proud to announce their partnership with Shout UK - a free, confidential and 24/7 text support service for anyone in the UK who is experiencing depression, anxiety or suicidal thoughts.   Shout’s trained volunteers are available around the clock to listen to and support those in need. We’re delighted to announce that JKS Restaurants and Dominic Jacobs were awarded ‘Food-Led Pub Group of the Year’ at Monday's R200 Awards 2024, hosted at Hawksmoor Canary Wharf. Our group recently expanded to three pubs with the successful launch of The Hound Chiswick this July, sitting alongside The George Public House in Fitzrovia and The Cadogan Arms in Chelsea. At its heart, Diwali is an annual festival of light celebrating the spiritual victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance. There are many ways of celebrating Diwali but for our family it’s always been about spending time together, being grateful for our good fortune over the past year and looking forward to a prosperous year ahead. Last Friday, our Sales & Marketing team spent the day at WE ARE GROW: an agroecological farm and outdoor learning hub, centred on sustainable food growing.    The day was a part of our JKS Donate a Day scheme, whereby each year, every employee across the company has one paid day to volunteer with a charity of their choosing.   The whole team had a fantastic time away from their desks and getting stuck into the experience. A huge thank you to GROW for hosting.

Last week, a team of Sommeliers and Wine Managers from Gymkhana, Trishna, Brigadiers, Ambassadors Clubhouse and The George Public House all headed down to Exton Park for a day of harvest. Exton Park is a single vineyard private estate set on Hampshire’s distinctive chalky soils, producing elegant English sparkling wines under winemaker Corinne Seely. We are proud to pour their RB23 Rosé by the glass in the restaurants, where it pairs brilliantly with the unique menus. The trip was a great opportunity for the teams to get their hands dirty, picking Pinot Noir grapes from the same vines that go into the sparkling Rosé. 2023 was a cold vintage with challenging weather for English vineyards, but hand-harvesting allows only the best quality fruit to be selected. Thanks to Kit, Robin and the team at Exton Park for hosting us.
