👷♂️ Our Graduate Engineers Josh and Yanish on site in East London. 🚧   We’re excited to be part of this conversion of a Grade II listed building and the construction of new buildings to create a mix of privately owned flats and affordable rentals.   We carried out a desk study, followed by ground investigation to provide critical data for structural planning ahead of construction.   Our client is working to a tight deadline on this project, so we mobilised to site promptly and issued preliminary data within 2 workings days of the works being completed to ensure our client has the information needed with plenty of time for their design freeze.   #groundinvestigation #siteinvestigation #geotechnicalengineering #eastlondondevelopment #residentialdevelopment #redevelopment #graduatescheme

I love the fact that engineers in this field tackle real-world problems, contributing to sustainable development and shaping the future of cities. My first week at the Jomas has been both exciting and educational, introducing me to the fundamentals of the company’s operations, including the importance of site investigations, and geotechnical analysis for construction projects. A significant proportion of my time has been shadowing site engineers on site, learning how to conduct site assessments and how to analyse soil samples, gas/water monitoring. By the end of the week, I felt more confident in my understanding of geotechnical practices and excited to continue contributing to the company’s projects. Basement redevelopment at a beautiful hotel in Surrey 🚧 👷♂️ 👷♀️   Jomas were appointed to carry out a Geotechnical Investigation and drill x1 borehole to a depth of 20m below ground level using a standard cable percussion drill. This determined the nature of the Lynch Hill Gravel Member/Bagshot Formation transitional materials and the depth to the weathered sandstone.   The basement redevelopment will be a swimming pool and plant room for guests to relax and enjoy.   #redevelopmentproject #hospitalitysector #geotechnicalinvestigation #siteinvestigation #surreyredevelopment #groundinvestigation
