🕵️♀️ Criminal gangs ruining environment, says watchdog. This was heart-breaking to read! I thought the main problem was fly tipping which is a major issue, but had not realised that illegal landfills are so prevalent. Some of them are operating so blatantly, it's unbelievable that they aren't closed immediately and the operators have huge punishing fines and imprisonment. This would send a message to others that the risk of getting caught is too high for it to be worthwhile.
