🌆 Our new report, 'London After Dark: The Reality of Working at Night in the Capital' reveals how vulnerable night time workers are to low pay and unreliable working hours. Some of the key findings include: 1️⃣ London night time workers are more than 40% more likely to experience low pay than those who don’t work at night. 2️⃣Those who work at night in London are twice as likely to have an insecure job than those who work in the daytime. 3️⃣31 per cent reported that working at night negatively impacts their physical health, with 28% experiencing negative impacts on their mental health. 4️⃣Twice as many workers earning below the London Living Wage are dissatisfied with working at night compared to those earning at or above it. The work that people do at night is essential to keeping London’s economy going and its culture thriving. These findings underscore the need for those who work at night to be fairly compensated, provided decent notice of their shifts and given a contract that reflects the hours they work.
