  • Thank you to our amazing funders! We are so grateful to: Searls Land, Focus Foundation, Matchroom Charitable Foundation, Gatwick Airport Community Trust, Bruce Wake Charitable Trust, Hedley Foundation, Happy Days Children’s Charity, Friarsgate Trust, and Boshier Hinton Foundation. Because of their generosity, 79 children and young people with disabilities enjoyed incredible overnight adventures in 2024. These trips gave many children their first night away from home, helping them build independence, confidence, and lifelong memories with their friends. Our residential adventures included: Hindleap Warren: Outdoor challenges like zip wires, climbing walls, and inclusive activities in the Ashdown Forest. Camp Kangaroos at WoWo Campsite: Campfires, muddy fun, bug hunting, and first-time camping experiences. Brighton: A seaside weekend filled with crazy golf, shopping, and visits to the Pier and Sealife Centre. Legoland Windsor: A magical overnight stay with Lego workshops, thrilling rides, and exclusive VIP experiences. Their support has made a real difference in the lives of the children and young people we work with. Thank you for helping us create these unforgettable moments. #thankyousupporters #transforminglives #sendsupport #kangaroos #inclusiveexperiences #makingmemories #midsussex #midsussexcharity Searls Land Focus Foundation #hedleyfoundation #gatwickairportcommunitytrust #matchroomcharitablefoundation Happy Days Childrens Charity Boshier Hinton Foundation FRIARSGATE TRUST

  • December 2024 - Collinson Group update Christmas Wrap Up Kangaroos are proud to be supported by Collinson Group which was established when we were invited to their Corporate Volunteering & Charity Awareness Day at their offices in Haywards Heath in September 2024. To date the company has donated £1,660 which includes an internal raffle raising - £160, a £500 business donation in September and a generous donation of £1,000 to fund Christmas Hampers for some of our parents and carers in need. In return Kangaroos have offered Collinson employees a number of corporate volunteering, team-building and challenge opportunities and activities they have participated in so far, have included: making decorations, wrapping presents, decorating the Cuckfield Christmas Tree and packing and wrapping Christmas hampers. We are also delighted that 3 employees from the Collinson Group have committed to run in the 2025 Brighton Marathon and the company has pledged to match fund up to £500 each runner raises for Kangaroos. Pictured below are a couple of Collinson employees involved in decorating the Kangaroos ‘30th Anniversary’ tree at this year’s Cuckfield Christmas Tree Festival. The paper chains made by Collinson volunteers and those made by some of our Kangaroos teenage members represent the link between a corporate and a local charity working together to help make a difference in the local community. The 30 hand-painted baubles and the bright branding colours of orange and blue, further illustrate how for the past 30 years and beyond - Kangaroos brings colour to lives of people with learning disabilities. #collinsongroup #thankful #charity #community #kangaroos

  • We are delighted to have been awarded a three-year core organisational grant from Children in Need. The £38,000 each year will contribute to our salary and rental costs, which will enable us to grow our service and build resilience in our operational structure. We are only able to support 50% of eligible people in our community that could benefit from our services. This grant will help us to bring colour to the lives of more people with learning disabilities, by meeting the unmet need in the community we serve.
