Visit to one of our project on Stokes Croft, Bristol. Great to see the tower crane in place and the building rapidly emerging out of the ground. The project will provide a mixed use building containing ground floor commercial units and accommodation for over 190 students. Great to be out of the ground on this brilliant scheme with RED Construction Group and Angus Meek Architects..! 🏗️ #bristol #structuralengineering #proudlyemployeeowned
I’m sure many of you RED in the press this morning, that our Moon Street project in Bristol is now well underway!👷 The RED Construction Group SW team are delivering a student accommodation scheme in the Stokes Croft Conservation area - an area right on my doorstep, so I snapped this picture on my sunny stroll into the office this morning!🌞🏗️ Situated in Bristol’s cultural quarter, the project has been designed with a recessed courtyard and twin pitched roof areas, replicating the original silhouette of the Stokes Croft School which occupied the site from 1772, until it was destroyed in the 1941 Blitz. Angus Meek Architects are the creative minds behind this 5 storey building of 184 high-quality student rooms, that will feature a flexible commercial space situated on the primary Stokes Croft façade wrapping around to Moon Street, providing a new active frontage and business opportunities to local enterprises! Stay tuned for updates as the project progresses, can’t wait to see it first hand on my commute! 🌙🌙🌙🌙

🎗️This year's KB2 Charity Day saw some of the team assist on the Strawberry Line Cycle Path project near Shepton Mallet.🚴 After a hearty breakfast, works began on vegetation clearance and the installation of balustrades to the abutments of a new bridge. 🏗️During a well earned tea break the new bridge was craned into place. Does it get any better..?? The Strawberry Line forms part of the Somerset Circle cycle path, a 76 mile loop around the Mendips, Bristol and Bath. https://lnkd.in/gKvPuT9K #charity #structuralengineering #bristol #proudlyemployeeowned

📽️ The Pontardawe Arts Centre 72-seat cinema extension with Childs Sulzmann Architects architects is now out of the ground and the attenuation tank has received SAB sign-off..! ✅ Located in the Natural Resources Wales Flood Zones 2/3, the extension also features a Flood Compensation Tank which allows water to flow in/out via low level grills during flood events. Close design team collaboration to incorporate the floodwater tank under the tiered seating has meant that Neath Port Talbot Council did not need to offer up land elsewhere to offset building within the flood zone. The surface water attenuation/flood compensation tanks have been formed in water-resisting concrete with screeds laid to falls which can be seen in the site progress photo. #structuralengineering #proudlyemployeeowned #wales

Recent site photos from a challenging side extension to an existing farmhouse with WOTTON DONOGHUE ARCHITECTS (BRISTOL) LIMITED. Soil nails have been utilised as temporary restraint for the excavations, ready for the two-storey reinforced concrete retaining walls to be constructed. With a country lane at the top of the slope, close collaboration has been required between the design team and contractor to gain AIP sign-off from Highways. #structuralengineers #southwest #basement #proudlyemployeeowned

📽🎬 One of the many charms of an office on Dowry Square is its use in period dramas. Today we returned from site to find a coachman casually sat on some steps, having a breather between takes. As you do! #bristol #property #structuralengineers
