Organised by Building Magazine, the UK’s leading magazine for construction professionals, The Building Awards is a significant event in the construction industry, celebrating outstanding achievements and innovations. The judges shared: “Keegans has been very responsive to the market, particularly in meeting clients’ fire safety needs in residential high-rise properties. Keegans stood out as a trusted name that is proactive and doing important work for the public sector.” Keegans has made great strides in 2023/2024, underscoring our commitment to enhancing safety, comfort, and sustainability to peoples homes. We’ve successfully retrofitted over 6,000 homes, improving energy efficiency and creating more comfortable living spaces while helping residents reduce their energy costs. In addition, we have demonstrated our expertise in fire safety by completing over 170 fire safety projects to date. We are pleased to welcome Alessandro Tibaldi to the Keegans Retrofit team!   Alessandro joins us as a Retrofit Assessor and Coordinator. He brings over a decade of experience in energy efficiency, domestic energy assessments, and retrofit coordination. Marios joins us as a Quantity Surveyor & Employers Agent and has over five years of experience in Quantity Surveying, Contact Administration and Project Management. Since graduating from the University of Westminster with a BSc in Quantity Surveying & Commercial Management, Marios has worked on a diverse range of projects, leveraging his skills and expertise to ensure their successful completion. Robert joins Keegans as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor and Employers Agent. With a BSc in Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management from Oxford Brookes University, Robert brings over two years of experience in cost management, tender management, contract administration, and stakeholder engagement across a diverse range of projects. We had an insightful and enriching day at our quarterly staff CPD Knowledge Café yesterday! Colleagues from ECD Architects Ltd and Keegans came together for an afternoon of learning, collaboration and connection. 🎓✨ Topics covered included: 📊 A Business update: A look at our latest achievements and plans for future growth. 🌍 Carbon Footprint workshop: Led by ECD’s Loreana Padron and Kate Boylan from Useful Projects, we explored ways to reduce carbon in our offices through a hands-on workshop. ❄️ An Introduction to Thermal Bridges: Laura Boffardi delivered an interesting session on identifying and understanding thermal bridges Afterwards, the team headed to the Thirsty Bear pub nearby. It was a lovely evening of socialising with colleagues and reflecting on lessons learnt. Congratulations to Emily Slade on becoming a certified Retrofit Coordinator! 👏🎉 We are honoured to celebrate Emily's journey and recent success passing the Retrofit Coordinator course with AECB. Emily joined Keegans almost two years ago as a Data Manager, initially helping with assessment downloads and general admin tasks for our retrofit projects. With a background in Mathematics and no prior experience in Retrofit or the Built Environment, Emily quickly embraced the opportunity to dive into our various retrofit projects and learn from our team. “Over the last two years, I’ve worked my way up through the relevant retrofit courses, knowing my end goal would be to pass the coordinator course. I feel lucky to have had the support to be able to achieve this so quickly and I’m looking forward to the new responsibilities that come with it!” - Emily Slade.
