Keyless uses passive liveness detection to confirm the authenticity of the individual attempting to authenticate. While our complete list of passive indicators is proprietary, some common techniques include analyzing color tones, patterns, reflections, and other fine details. For example: ▪️ Colors: Analyzing skin tones and detecting inconsistencies common in synthetic images. ▪️ Patterns: Examining background textures, like the moiré patterns seen when filming screens. ▪️ Reflections: Observing how light interacts with facial features, indicating depth and natural shading. ▪️ Periocular Region: Monitoring the area around the eyes for micro-movements unique to real individuals. ▪️ Vein Recognition: Using vein patterns for a distinct, reliable indicator of identity. ▪️ Vibration and Movement: Detecting slight device vibrations or shifts that confirm a user is holding the device. 🎙️ Learn more from our Co-Founder and CTO, Paolo Gasti, in the latest episode of our Keyless Explainer series! #ExplainingKeyless #biometricauthentication #privacypreserving #zkb #decentralizedbiometrics #livenessdetection #deepfakes

We’re proud to share that Keyless has been ranked among the Top 50 Facial Recognition Algorithms Globally in the NIST FRVT 1:1 Verification Evaluations! 🚀 In our debut performance, we excelled in the Mugshot category, which evaluates facial recognition accuracy using images captured under controlled conditions, such as neutral expressions, consistent lighting, and frontal-facing poses. This category is particularly relevant for enterprise identity authentication, as well as applications like border control and law enforcement. This recognition highlights our position as a leader in privacy-preserving biometric authentication, with our Zero-Knowledge Biometrics™ (ZKB) technology ensuring that no biometric data is ever stored—whether on devices or in the cloud—demonstrating that privacy and performance can go hand in hand. One of the most common attacks on biometric systems is presenting a fake sample, such as a #deepfake, to impersonate a legitimate user. Liveness detection enables a system to differentiate between a spoof attempt and a real user. Active liveness uses a challenge-response protocol, asking users to perform actions like blinking or nodding. Passive liveness analyzes natural image or video traits—such as texture and reflections—without requiring user actions. While both methods were traditionally effective, advanced deepfakes break the challenge-response protocol. They can now mimic active liveness protocols, making passive detection the preferred method for accurately identifying deepfakes. 🎙️ Learn more from our Co-Founder and CTO, Paolo Gasti, in the latest episode of our Keyless Explainer series! #ExplainingKeyless #biometricauthentication #privacypreserving #zkb #decentralizedbiometrics

For years, One-Time Passcodes (OTPs) have been a go-to solution for secure logins and transactions. But as cyberattacks evolve, the limitations of OTPs—especially those delivered via SMS—are becoming hard to ignore. The problem: ▪️ Rising Threats: SIM swapping complaints doubled between 2020 and 2023, making SMS OTPs a growing target for hackers. ▪️ System Vulnerabilities: Protocol flaws allow attackers to intercept OTPs. ▪️ Reliability Issues: Network delays and delivery costs can frustrate users and strain businesses. The solution: ▪️ Forward-thinking financial institutions are embracing biometric verification (with liveness detection) and passwordless authentication for enhanced security and user experience. Why make the shift? Dive into our blog to uncover the reasons: https://lnkd.in/dsNgBvbN #otp #otpfraud #simswapping #biometricauthentication #fraudprevention #security #dataprotection

Keyless has established a unique, proprietary approach to biometric data storage that allows us to confirm your identity without ever seeing or storing biometric data anywhere. 🚀 This is because we match biometric data in an encrypted format, without any decryption. We’re able to do this by using privacy-preserving cryptographic technique known as secure Multi-Party Computation (sMPC) that overcomes the flaws of existing decentralized models. Consider two millionaires who are interested in knowing who is richer without revealing their actual wealth. SMPC allows them to find this information out without revealing their answers. In Keyless’ context, #SMPC allows a user to send and retrieve their biometric data from the Keyless Cloud Service without revealing their data to anyone, including Keyless. sMPC involves two steps: ▪️During enrollment, a biometric profile is created on the user’s device using sMPC and stored in the cloud. This profile is unlinkable to the user’s face. ▪️During authentication, a new sample is transformed and securely compared with the stored profile using sMPC, protecting biometric data in use, at rest, and in transit, combining local privacy with server-side security and portability. 🎙️ Learn more from our Co-Founder and CTO, Paolo Gasti, in the latest episode of our Keyless Explainer series! #ExplainingKeyless #biometricauthentication #privacypreserving #zkb #decentralizedbiometrics
