  • Today we are announcing the sale of Brico Dépôt Romania to ALTEX Romania.   Our CEO Thierry Garnier comments:   “We are pleased to have found an experienced and successful local buyer for Brico Dépôt Romania. This decision enables us to have greater strategic focus on markets and growth initiatives where we are most strongly positioned to deliver attractive returns and create shareholder value.   “I would like to thank all Brico Dépôt Romania colleagues for their commitment and customer focus over the years.   • Last week B&Q celebrated the opening of a new store in Rotherham! 🎉   The new 22,000 sq. ft store is located at Great Eastern Retail Park, and is the first retail park location to open this year. The store offers a range of services including a dedicated TradePoint area, a timber cutting service, Valspar paint mixing station and customers can also access 22,500 additional items through the Click & Collect service.   Check out the new store below 👇  

  • Today we announced the appointment of Lucinda Riches to our Board as a Non-Executive Director and member of the Audit, Nomination, Remuneration and Responsible Business Committees, with effect from 1 January 2025.   • Screwfix is celebrating three years of Screwfix Sprint, the 60-minute rapid delivery service 🏃 The service has had some amazing achievements since its launch in 2021: • Delivered over 2 million products • Over 70,000 customers have used the service • Over half of the UK's population can now access Sprint A huge congratulations to all Screwfix colleagues for all the hard work they've put into making Sprint a success 👏🏻

  • Yesterday was our second Kingfisher Colleague Forum of the year. This bi-annual meeting brings together colleague representatives from across our banners and Group functions. The KCF is an important opportunity for colleagues to have an exchange of views and share insights on business-wide topics with our Board and leadership team.    This time, the Forum discussed our strategy with CEO Thierry Garnier and explored People topics with Kate Seljeflot, Chief People Officer. Also on the agenda: the importance of cyber security with Sarah Harvie, Chief Information Security Officer and a deep dive into how we are harnessing AI with our Group AI Director, Mohsen Ghasempour, Ph.D..   • 🎄 B&Q and its charity partner Shelter have created a series of snow globe baubles showcasing scenes that reflect the harsh realities that over 159,000 children will face this Christmas living in temporary accommodation.   The snow globes will be hung on trees at B&Q stores nationwide to highlight the impact homelessness can have on families. B&Q is also donating £1 for every real Christmas tree sold, to Shelter and hosting fundraising activities across stores nationwide.   Find out more about the campaign through the link in the comments.
