It’s all part of our commitment to helping customers make easier and more convenient choices suited to their project and budget, whilst reducing waste and environmental impact.

Loaning some tools, offering a hand, and giving lessons in DIY - all in a day’s work for Compagnons Bâtisseurs Île-de-France’s Bricobuses supported by the Castorama Foundation 👏 This fleet, which recently grew to 50 vehicles, journeys around France to improve housing for those in need of support. It’s just one way our Banner Foundations are working to help those whose housing needs are greatest, reaching more than 1.2 million people last year alone.

This week is National Apprenticeship Week in the UK. At Kingfisher, we’re working to be a more inclusive company by breaking down barriers to employment and progression, and by building skills for life.   We're making strong progress on our plan to deliver 20,000 apprenticeships, traineeships or formal qualifications by 2030, with over 5,000 being completed last year. We’re proud to offer apprenticeship schemes for our colleagues across our banners, as well as supporting apprenticeships in the trades at Screwfix and B&Q.

Today Screwfix has introduced two electric heavy-goods vehicles (HGVs) into its delivery fleet.   The HGVs will operate on shorter-range routes from the Lichfield Distribution Centre (DC), servicing Screwfix stores across the West Midlands and Midlands regions. To support with the deployment, Screwfix has installed dedicated charging stations at the DC using electricity sourced from renewable energy, including power generated from the large solar panel installation at Lichfield DC.   These new vehicles are part of a range of initiatives to decarbonise our logistics operations across Kingfisher, as we work to reach net-zero emissions across Scope 1 and 2 by 2040. 

Exciting expansion news from the B&Q X Deliveroo partnership 🤝🏼   From this week, customers local to Beckton, Sidcup, Watford, Acton and Romford can now enjoy on-demand delivery of over 9500 products from larger B&Q stores in as little as 25 minutes.   This expansion of the trial of Deliveroo deliveries from a number of B&Q Local stores in London last year, enhances B&Q’s offer of convenience to customers, meaning they can shop gardening supplies, storage solutions, and paint brands without having to leave their homes.
