About us

KiTEC is a multidisciplinary team based primarily in the School of Biomedical Engineering and Imaging Sciences, in the London Institute for Healthcare Engineering. We collaborate with other departments in King's and the Medical Physics Department of Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust (GSTT) and have recently become a member of the NIHR HealthTech Research Centre in Cardiovascular and Respiratory Sciences based at GSTT. We have expertise in health technology assessment (HTA), with a particular interest in novel medical devices. Activities include sourcing, evaluating and analysing clinical and health economic evidence relating to new devices and techniques; collection and analysis of data and horizon scanning. KiTEC's main funding comes from the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), but we also undertake various projects for clients such as medical devices industry and NHS Trusts, such as research evaluating medical devices and their translation into clinical use. For more information on the services we offer, get in touch at kitec@kcl.ac.uk to get the conversation started.
