Thank you to everyone who joined us for a spectacular Diwali celebration at the weekend, it was a moment to remember! Hundreds of people took part in our riverside lantern parade, led by the Mayor of Greenwich, Cllr. Jit Ranabhat, lighting up the Peninsula like never before. With beautiful lanterns crafted by the children from our local schools, residents, families and Firepit Art Gallery & Studios CIC artist in residence Pragya Kumar, Nicola Reid and their teams, the parade was the perfect way to end the celebrations in style. Thank you to Barrie Kelly, Ann-Marie Cousins, Su Whiting, Linda Drew and Edward Simmons for joining us too. This year’s celebration is part-funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund #UKSPF and supported by the Mayor of London, Royal Borough of Greenwich and Visit Greenwich. Looking forward to next year already.

On Greenwich Peninsula, London is transforming. A place inventing itself as the capital’s most boldly modern landscape.
About us
We are Knight Dragon – a team of experienced and creative developers, marketeers, planners, and financiers, creating new places and setting new standards for urban living. Regeneration is about more than bricks and mortar. We harness the power of culture, art and design to build socially and economically sustainable communities. We’re investing £8.4 billion into Greenwich Peninsula, a blank canvas twice the size of Soho. Emerging as the capital’s most boldly modern landscape, the Peninsula will have 15,000 new homes, 13,000 new jobs and 7 diverse new neighbourhoods. With a leading-edge digital media University Ravensbourne, a new Design District opening in 2021, and an elevated garden walkway, this is a celebration of new creative energy and ideas, all enveloped by the iconic Thames. Backed by Dr Henry Cheng, Chairman of New World Developments and CTF, we have the long-term vision and financial backing to ensure the project success. Dr Cheng and the wider Cheng family have substantial interests in property and infrastructure in Hong Kong and China. These include the majority interest in one of Asia’s leading developers, New World Development, which has a market capitalisation of $4.6 billion.

On 2nd November we will once again be celebrating Diwali, the Festival of Lights, at Greenwich Peninsula. Community is at the heart of everything we do, and Diwali gives us an opportunity to bring together our diverse local communities for a day of feasting, crafting and dancing all set against the backdrop of Design District London and the River Thames. The festivities kick off at midday and peak with a spectacular riverside lantern parade, including handmade lanterns from hundreds of children, residents and visitors, illuminating the Peninsula. It’s a moment not to be missed! This year’s celebration is part-funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund #UKSPF and supported by the Mayor of London, Royal Borough of Greenwich and Visit Greenwich. A big thanks also goes to St Mary Magdalene C Of E Primary School, Firepit Art Gallery & Studios CIC, Nicola Reid and Pragya Kumar. Find out more - https://lnkd.in/e8B9qq8X

We’re decarbonising our District Heat Network on Greenwich Peninsula. We received £4.6 million from the Green Heat Network Fund to advance the decarbonisation of our energy centre which delivers sustainable, affordable energy to homes and offices across the entire neighbourhood. Ushna Mughal and Amar Parkinson caught up with NLA to tell them more about the sustainable heat solutions we are adopting.

“We wanted our community investment programmes to reflect the needs of those pockets which don’t get lots of multi-million-pound donations; the grassroots…” In her feature in “Building Community Impact in 2024 and Beyond” by The London Community Foundation, our Senior ESG & Community Impact Lead, Ushna Mughal, shares how Knight Dragon is working to create long-term, meaningful change on Greenwich Peninsula. From supporting local initiatives to driving environmental progress, Ushna highlights the ways we’re helping build a better future for all. Design District London celebrated their 3rd birthday and is thriving as a space for creatives to collaborate, grow and build their business. A special thank you to the members and tenants who base their businesses from Design District and bringing their talent and creativity to the area. Happy Birthday Design District – here’s to many more.
Celebrating 3 years of community at Design District 🎉 Last night, we welcomed over 120 Design District community members to celebrate the District’s 3rd Birthday at Bureau, our on-site restaurant. The complimentary drinks were flowing, with homemade pizzas served by the slice. The celebrations formed part of our quarterly Meet The Neighbours series, where individuals and companies based at Design District London can come together to meet, mingle and connect. Many interesting collaborations have been born from these gatherings. We’ve witnessed graphic designers finding their newest client, and brands being able to expand their product lines with the help of newly introduced development experts. All Design District community members have the opportunity to join these events, and many more, from breakfast clubs, through to lunch networking, and evening happy hours. With Coworking memberships starting from only £150 p/m, including access to 3 lounge spaces, free wellness classes, our rooftop basketball court, and discounts at Bureau, there’s so much to gain from joining the Design District community.
