It's been such a good year for Kwanda, and I've had the best time growing the community.
🥵 Didn't get burned out ... the opposite.
⌛ Didn't work crazy hours
🔍 Stayed focused
🎯 Cleared all our targets
💪🏿 Signed up 1400 philanthropists
🌍 Opened up in the US 🇺🇸 and across the EU 🇪🇺
🎉 Partied with the community
... but the major successes are down to two parties:
The entrepreneurs in Africa and the Caribbean who've chosen us as partners and our community of 1418 villagers who were over the tired foreign aid models that paint Africans as wanting and decided to put their money where their mouths were and do something about it.
Here's a small slice of what was accomplished:
Through the local manufacturing of reusable menstrual pads, we reclaimed over 231,000 hours of school time for 1,155 girls in 🇬🇭 Ghana, 🇰🇪 Kenya, and 🇿🇼 Zimbabwe.
We built a community-led free primary healthcare clinic in 🇳🇬 Lagos that will take in 4,000 visitors annually.
Through a vertical garden innovation, we supported adaptable food systems in rural 🇰🇪 Kenya.
Looking forward to scaling up our impact in 2025 🚀
