Fifty years ago, John, Bill and David escaped the prison of Eastry Hospital in Kent. They joined Geoffrey, Ann, Therese and others to start L’Arche in the UK. 🏠 Since then, thousands of others, with and without learning disabilities, have come to L’Arche, found their lives changed, and helped change the world. None of this would have happened without people who believed in more for people with learning disabilities. Good to see one of the main political parties, the Liberal Democrats, taking the care crisis seriously, especially in light of the crippling proposed National Insurance increase. It will affect L'Arche UK and every other care provider severely if it is allowed to pass.
